    Firefox 3 Released

Just a reminder to those that use Firefox and don't know that Firefox 3 is released today at 10am PDT.

Also if you can, please try to download it from mozilla.com within the first 24 hours as they are trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most downloaded program in 24 hours.

So please download it from the site and only one download per computer to stay legitimate.

Sweet, thanks. I will download it right now and install it when my dad gets home. He's the ubergeek in this household.

Yeah, I got it yesterday around 2. About to install it on my laptop as well. It's nice, I like it. Much faster and looks better, too.

Looks like the record is going to be around 8 million download but the official score won't be know for a couple weeks as the judges need to sort through the data.

only used opera on some school computers.....cant really comment on that.

But i'm liking the new firefox....I think I'm going to start using it instead of IE. Firefox is using 2-3x the memory as IE, but it does seem to be faster.

my FF3 keeps crashing. It's very unstable. Seems to crash a couple times a session (3-5 hours).

              i'm kinda disappointed.

Check out Better Gmail 2. I haven't had any complaints with FF3 (was actually using a few betas for a while before the final release), and I use that one. It very well may have similar features to your gmail manager.

Will the old ff2 add-ons I have (noscript, adblock, forecastfox, etc etc) work on the new ff3 or will it take awhile for them to be upgraded? If so, I'll stick with ff2 until ff3 is up to full speed. I'm doing the same with xp and vista (at least until my old laptop craps out on me and I have to buy a new one with vista).

I'm not too crazy about the automatic pull-down searching through my bookmarks whenever I try to type a URL.

Can't seem to find a way to shut it off.

                          Otherwise, working fine.
