    Photo editing software

I'm looking for some photo editing software. I don't need anything I can do any major 'shopping' ability, I just want to be able to crop and clean up pics I take, and I want the ability to run the pics in a slideshow too. I'd like something I can download and try for a couple weeks before I buy too. I tried CompuPic and liked it on XP, but I'm now running 64bit Vista and CompuPic doesn't work on it. I tried SnagIt too, but while it worked, it was a little to clunky for my tastes, and no slideshow that I could disern. Any suggestions?

Not sure if it will work 64bit. Let us know.

IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE.

Tried GIMP? GNU Image Manipulation Program, basically an open-source Photoshop clone.

I'll second gimp as the most comprehensive solution... but it sounds like your needs are very basic... have you tried Photoshop Express (Free online) express.photoshop.com

I've used gimp for a few things. I don't know if it can do a slideshow though.

GIMP is one of my favorite programs. It is essentially an open source version of Photoshop, with some functionality changed and layouts quite different. The layout can be Photoshop-like with one of the add-ons from their site.
