    M1A or 1911

    Alright here is the deal.
This is more of a question of which one first more than anything... but the second one wont be up for a good long while so I am at an impass.

    Any gun from Springfield Armory...
I can get any M1a or 1911 (I could get an XD, but that would be a waste)

right now I am looking at the
    M1a standard with fiberglass stock.

Or a "loaded" fullsize 1911Stainless steel

Note: the 1911 is about half the price.

    In the rifle/handgun stock I already have a glock 19, ruger SAA 45lc, AR-15, Rem700 30-06.

Which of the two would fit the best?
A whopper of a rifle, or finally break into a 1911?

M1A, no question. But go with the classic wood, it just looks better.

not a fan of 1911's with rails.

M1a: wood huh? guys here told me the fiberglass holds up better and that I can pick up a wood stock for el cheapo. I am kinda leaning toward the wood tho. I dont have any classics... all my stuff is polymer.

It might hold up better, but it looks like poo compared to a nice wood stock. On an M1A, at least.

              Depends on the condition,

Is the M1A GI issue or remake, either way make sure the barrel is good.

People are notorious for shooting corrosive ammo and not cleaning the barrel well enough.

M1A FTW, but get a Pre Ban one. They had more USGI parts then the newer ones, ive seen a few firing pins snap in half and bolts not fit right in SA's newer production ones since the USGI parts supply has dryed up.

I'd go with the M1A, if for no other reason than that my 1911 manufacturer of choice is Kimber.

Agreed! Unless you specifically want a 1911 from Springfield or it's a $ issue, buy the M1A there and save up for a Kimber.

                            I would vote the same.

Wow that's a hard decision. I think I'd go with the M1A. But yea, wood stock definitely.
