    Back to School

My rug rats went back today. The house is nice and quiet for the first time in eight weeks.
Looking forward to the load of paperwork we will have to fill out this afternoon....lol

It sucks like you wouldn't believe. Summer break is over in the middle of the -ing summer! I cant even play paintball because by the time I have enough money for the parts to fix the previous winter's "tinkering" , the season (for a student) is over.

It wouldnt be so bad if I had good teachers, books, funding, government...

college is better in highschool, until you realize college is just an extension of highschool, except now your paying for it. Learning how to live on your own is better, but you dont need college to accomplish that. More than 50% of your college education SHOULD have been taught in highschool....making highschool degrees easily attainable for everyone(no child left behind) was a huge mistake because no child is really challenged when they are learning anymore.

Ahhhh sorry for the OT post, ive had 12 creadits of general eds Ive had to take this summer to graduate in the fall.....the sad thing is I'm the whole way through my major classes(2 left) and NONE of my current classes apply to my major....$6 grand this summer alone(not inlcuding housing), wasted. The college system is just a huge profit generating system that is ran like a business, not an education system.

Ever think of this?.....colleges love undecided students, theres a good chance they will take longer than 4 years, so more profit.....but is it right that a student who knows what their goals and major will be are forced through the same general education curriculum as a student who doesnt know what they want to do? How can you possibly receive a higher education when college is teaching broad spectrum.....that is what high school is for.

Lincoln was wrong as far as education goes. all students are not created equal. This thread took a turn for the super weird, and I'm not entirely sure why.

Uhh, congratulations, or my apologies, or whatever the proper sentiment is.
