AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I have used it... it's really cool. But I dropped it because:
1) Hard to upkeep and stay organized... takes tons of time to add shortcuts and whatnot.
2) It is annoying booting up your computer and finding error messages... sure, fixable ussually, but there is an inherent risk with running this program.
I'll just say if you know what you're doing with computers, go for it, it's nice. If not... I would avoid it. If you do not know how to boot up with a boot disk and open system.ini from DOS, don't do it, because this would be the only way to change back to the Windows shell (explorer.exe) without reinstalling windows, IF you had a problem.
