CZ is the largest firearm manufacturer in the world IIRC. I know they make Dan Wesson firearms, which seem to be fine guns. I would try a CZ if it fit my needs and budget. Good luck with it.

CZ and SIG are the only European Companies I'd buy from. Both are in 'Free' European Countries (where they actually allow you to pack heat). Czech Republic has CCW as does Switzerland. I love the stuff both of them make.

well... the common sense stick hit me in the head today.

I heard/read a lot of bad stuff about turkish made side by sides today. If they were infact made by CZ propper... I might be a little more tempted... but they are not. Its this same company that has apparently been turning out crap for years under contract with CZ.

Still want a SxS... dont want to pay the money for a nice one... oh well. Maybe later. Anything over $1500 that isnt full auto or 50bmg just doesnt seem right to me.

But... I will be picking up a SA1911 instead. looking at the loaded 5" SS. I heard it was a good gun to start building on.

Why not look into Stoger? They make a cheaper SxS. Their Under Over shoots nice...

Of course you cannot go wrong with that JMB classic!! A 1911 is the way to go.

I had a Charles Daly field grade 2 in my hands a few weeks ago. For a cheaper SxS it seemed decent enough - much better action than the cheaper ones like Stoegers and some of the Russian imports.

Savage and Stevens both make a cheaper model too, I think...
