My favorite part of that story might just be the quote from the original decision calling it wikipedia.com instead of .org. How little they must have cared about that decision.

True of a lot of legislation. The people who have the final say have only a hazy idea exactly what they're making laws about. That's one reason I wouldn't want McCain elected, because the next president will probably have to deal with a lot of legislation concerning the internet, and I'd rather have that stuff decided by someone who's actually used it.

Pretty bad that they used Wikipedia to try to figure that out, though. Isn't that the sort of information they should have (and thus the sort of decision Wikipedia should be based on, and not the other way around)? And I thought it was bad that college students studied for tests using Wikipedia...

It was just kicked back for review. A final order has not been made, or so it would appear.

They were trying to find out information about an internal Ethiopian travel document and whether that established identity. A Wiki article was one of several pieces of information submitted.
After considering evidence presented by the parties,
including information submitted by the DHS from an Internet website known as
Wikipedia, the IJ found that the laissez-passer

        Your country, a rifle.

        Keep all of them clean.
