AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
So since I don't have the money for a WASR/AK variant I was thinking about an SKS
my local in town (town of like 3000) gun store would be able to order me a Yugo sks, original price being $170 add 15% mark up 25 or so for shipping and another 25 for license fees, grand total around $250
what do you think yugo SKS $250?
kills me when one of you guys picked up that SKS for 100$ but...
...I'd like to get one soon, especially depending on who is elected.
That seems ok, not outstanding though. Does it have a removable magazine? I would hold out and try to find a deal on a stamped AK-type rifle for a little bit more, but that is just me. That Yugo would be a fair deal at $250 though. If you like the rifle then go for it. You cannot go wrong buying a gun that you like, unless it gets you thrown in the slammer...
Stand by for a PM...
I picked up a Norinco (sp) SKS for $40 bux! in great shape as well, even came with a 1/2 box of Winchester shells. I shot them up, then turned around and sold it for $150. I believe the other guys still got a good deal. Ive heard that the Norico SkS' are some of the better, but im not gun expert, esp. on somthing like that.
But I was very well pleased with the gun. It shot great at 100 yards with open sight. Wouldnt mind having another at some point. But I would deff. reccomend them. Esp. for a cheap, fun shooter.

Well what happened was the my uncle has a country auction house. Somebody brought this gun to him and apparently needed money pretty badly so he bought it for 40 beans. One night i was up to 1 of his auctions and he took me to a storage room and showed me the gun. He didnt know ext what it was, and honestly, i wasnt sure either. But he was told it shot fine and said he would let me have it for what he had in it. So i pretty much fell n2 that deal. Sometimes karma is a good thing. I shot it some and then did my research, finally let it go when the time seemed right. Hopefully you will come across something at the right price for you. It was a good little shooter.
And btw, the cheaper rounds for that thing arent expensive at all. very affordable actually. GL!

And it is dirty cheap! It is only $30 for 3 years!!
You are very limited with regard to what you can get with it though. Check the C&R list that the ATF posts first and then decide if it is worth it or not. Also know that you must give the ATF rights to inspect your bound book and your firearms that you acquire under the license once a year at their option. Just something to consider. I do not know if they actual check on collectors or concentrate on dealers or not. If you are away at school it might be an encumbrance, especially if you are like me and go to school 1050 miles from home...

thanks for the info! Have to check out the list to see what kind of options there are. Luckily school is only ~100 miles away for me...and should be over very very shortly.
