I was thinking like elk or moose, but a scary animal might be fun too ... And fantastic plastic? Bah! I hate Glocks because they put the slide release so dang close to the grip. My thumbs rest right on it so it never locks back when I'm empty. Most Sigs are like that for me too.

I wanted a 10MM - I shot a coupe of the Delta Elites and found them to not be to my liking. The Glock sits low in my hand, and since I have a G26 and G17C (and practice a lot with the G26) the G20 fell right into what I wanted. It allows me to have it, have some competance with it, and not spend a ton of money feeding it. Understanding I want a back-up gun for hunting it fits the criteria perfectly - good stopping power (for a pistol) with the vast amount of shots to allow a few shots to be taken quickly (and controllable recoil to make it possible).

I've hunted boar with the combination, never had to draw the Glock, thing was dead before it hit the ground - apparently a 300 grain bullet to the head at close range and decent velocities (2400FPS with less than full loads of powder) will do that.




Yes it was a sanctuary hunt, still a lot of fun, and a great test for the new toy.

hmmmm.... okie. Thought maybe the finger grooves on the grip were one way. Maybe they are wraps. Thought it would be a palm swell on the other side.

Unfortunately my big game hunting rifle is for lefties. It was my dad's main rifle and he was a lefty, I'm a righty. It's single shot though, so realistically I only have 1 real attempt anyway. When I hunt I do typically carry a sidearm though, just in case.

my dad took an 1800 pound cape buffalo with his .375 when he was in Africa. he has a Winchester Model 70 and used a Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer bullet. i hunt pigs with this though:



next time i head out is going to try taking my AK with a 5 round magazine. i think it will be pretty handy in the swampy brush in the area where i hunt, and a 7.63x39 soft point should kill it plenty dead.

its on this guys ranch... so im kinda tempted to take the AR-15 with 30rd'ers.

I hope my M1a gets here in time tho.

There is one other part of the hunt that if I said... you all would call BS.. and honestly so do I till it happens...so I will let ya know. ahhhhh!!!

How long does it take to get a follow up shot in that thing? I suppose its one of those dont miss or your screwed kinda things... but dunno... never shot a single shot (other than a muzzle loader). kinda curious.

do you know about the legality of hunting with a thirty round mag is in your area? in Florida the legal limit is 10 rounds, but then again your on private property. i only ever hunt on private land, but i never found out weather or not that mattered here, so i just stick with my ten round. what is the twist rate on your barrel?

Not enough for the big ones at range...1:9. I'm only pushing out 55 grain FMJ with 25 grains of 2230. that being said, I am pretty confident with those out to 250-275 yds with about 4-6 inch group iron sights. but with the 30rd mag... haha... to my understanding, with it being on his property there are no restrictions. I might even pick up a beta mag if obama gets in before we get around to doing it hahaha!

20mm, 50bmg's in the back, 408 cheytac, .338 lapua mag, 375 rem ultra mag (how does that compare to yours? I see the H&H is a belted case), 30-06, some random 696 grain steel core, .223, 9x30.
