AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
But the way I think of winers is the same way I think of ignorant people. And that is their tongues should be cut off so the stupid comments wouldn't have to be heard by the rest of us
Famous SEAL quotes:
"Give us your mind, and we will take care of your body"
"We aren't superman, he does things the hard way. Why leap tall buildings in a single bound, when you can blow it up and walk over the rubble"
"Pain is just weakness leaving the body"
"It is not my job to judge our enemies, that is God's job, it is my job to arrange the meeting"

SEAL team 6 is, and will forever, be "around". It dident go anywhere.
SWAT does very little with "counter-terrorist" operations, but they are very highly trained in CQB and "crisis management", as you put it, in the civilian world. But yes, if something did arrise on our soil where a tactical squad was needed to respond, SWAT teams would be the first to respond.
And Combat Missions is a horrible show. Absolutly astounding that ex SEAL's, Green Berets, etc. would even go on that show. I'm very disappointed.
Navy Seal, what kind of training regiment do you follow? Are you following one at all?
no no, i was wondering what you do NOW for training to prepare yourself. Your not going to just enlist are you? Do you follow a strict program? Can you swim? Can you combat sidestroke?? IF you want to be one of the 2/3 that get med dropped or performance dropped, then go ahead and enlist and not be prepared. I am saying this cause perhaps I can offer some advice. Have you given yourself the PFT yet? IF so what are your best scores so far? My first scores were HORRIBLE when I started way back when. My best performance to date is:
hey UDT, and navy, whatd you guys do to get to this level?? i really wanna become a SEAL (i have been into guns and war wwwaaaaayyyy before combat missons)
as for the whinning.. i think SOME of it has to do with jealousy and some is just the babies..

Ok well, first of all, you have to be really committed. Second, you have to ask lots of questions. So ask away and I will answer them.
ronron: I just started working out and getting hardcore into fitness a little over 2 years ago. I used to be really fat and slow and could barely do 20 pushups. But, I lost 85lbs of fat and 10 inches off my waist and realized that maybe, just maybe, i could make my dreams a reality. So I started reading all I could about what it REALLY takes to get into BUD/s. Education is key, Army will tell you that. He is the best example of what genuine thirst for knowledge is.
You have to look past the vail of mystery that surrounds SF groups. There is no mystical power, no phantom forces, that make the SEAL's, Green Berets, Rangers so special. Its the people. Its the "intestinal fortitude" that these guys posses that enables them to push beyond what any man thought was a limit, and achieve what few men do: greatness.
So, how did I get to the level Im out now? By kicking my own Azz EVERY day at the gym. By reading reading reading about nutrition, excercise physiology (im a Health Science major in college now too, so that helps!) and by talking to people.
You have to start small, baby steps. Books from Stew Smith are excellent! He has a "12 weeks to BUD/S" workout book that is top notch. I am following it now, I will complete it a couple times before seeing if I even have what it takes. Once I have done it a couple times, then I will ask myself one last time if I want to give it a shot. Even I sometimes question "why are you doing this???" but i push on. Stew's book though, is really meant for someone who is already in GOOD shape. Not GREAT, but GOOD shape. So dont go buy it and attempt it right off the bat. You will injure yourself. He has a beginner section in the back, which will help a lot. It takes time to allow muscle to grow, adapt and develop. So dont expect results overnight.
I could literally write pages here, so ask specific questions and I shall dispell the knowledge henceforth. If i cant answer it, I WILL NOT BS one. I will find the answer. Hope this helps!!!
it's aight i'm a friend's brother of john's and this name is being Honored to the fullest... and also for that combat mission yea it is horrible but it also shows the strength that american possess and the brother hood that goes on in the different forces... but yea i agree it's a horrible show
the seal webpage is http://sealchallenge.navy.mil/ it has some good stuff in it
I think when I "grow up" I may want to enlist. After doing some research and reading the "Black Hawk Down" book I decided my mind focused on becoming a Ranger. Most likely, I'd go to college and get a major in engineering and then enlist. I have lots of time to think, I'm only 15. So I still have some "growing up" to do.
I may be defending this country in the future...who woulda thunk it?
Does it smell like updog in here to you?
