Am I imaginating this? I bought a 150$USD item and paid with paypal. It ended me costing 196$CDN.

This summer, when I bought 120$USD items, it would cost me 125$CDN. What's going on? Did I miss something or am I going crazy tonight? Did they change their prices, taxes, fuel surcharge or whatever?

      That is about right...
      $1USD ~ $1.2780CDN as of closing today.

      $150USD * 1.2780 CDN/USD ~ $191.70CDN

They probably charge ~ $4-5CDN for revenue.

Have you guys heard of the stock market crash somewhere in asia? Our genetics teacher had his stock market screen up during class to make sure everything was allright lol. It's a bit hard to get decent news when you don't have a tv.

Markets everywhere are highly unstable as of now, so I don't doubt it.

EDIT: Here are some news snippits:

The Philippine Stock Exchange index lost 97.09 points, or 4.64 percent, at 1995.92, extending Wednesday's 1.1 percent drop.

Thai share prices closed 6.96 per cent lower, with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index losing 32.37 points to close at 432.87 points

well, a lot of exports from asia and europe come to the us, so if our market gets hurt, so do theirs. for some odd reason americans consume a lot more than others as far as imports n whatnot:P least thats prolly part of the reason.
