It's not shatner, it's not a guy that over acts, and it's a guy that's not a dick about being on the show with all that is represented. I'd give it a watch, although i'm not liking the spock they have.

Considering that it is being directed by JJ abrams it will either be hit or miss for most people. I know a lot of people who hated cloverfield and a lot who thought that it was good (I liked it), so I might go see it unless there is a better movie playing at the time.

Gotta agree with Moe. The most important point of all the shows and movies, is the timeline on the story and equipment. "Enterprise" failed miserably at it, and so did the first couple of seasons of TNG.

TOS must be followed correctly, or it won't make sense (at least to show fans. All others will just be watching a space movie). The TOS Enterprise was rather pathetic in design, and simple in nature. The movies did a good job on improving the visuals without going over the top, or beyond what would be logical. This is where "Enterprise" failed to exploit, by making a much more sophisticated/streamlined looking NCC-1701, despite the design should have been primitive to the TOS NCC-1701.

This new movie, according to the few trailers I have seen, did the same thing: flowing sophisticated, almost anime design of the ship, compared to the blocky, chunky lines of the TOS ship.

Not to mention the one trailer, where young Kirk drives his car off the cliff, states his name as James SIBERIOUS Kirk.

this movie will do to star trek, what casino royal did for the bond franchise - totally re-invent it and make it WAY WAY better.

long time and die hard star trek fan here. if the franchise can live though the motion picture, "Enterprise", and star trek V the final frontier, there is really nothing it can't handle.
