Killed the battery, did the hard reset, failed from a charge in the truck, failed from a charge off a spare battery, failed from a USB charge.

I pulled the battery cable from the hard drive....can't get any less power to the hard drive

I also pulled the hard drive cable from the mother board, so any residual power would be lost to it also.

              still......nuttin'.

well id give micro a call then,, i didnt have to open mine I just let it sit until nothing would happen fully discharging everything.

Who knows a capacitor on the board might have kept the rom alive keeping the time setting.

hmm. I just unplugged mine and let it run dead. Plugged it back in and after a little while had enough juice to power up.

One of the annoying things I've noticed about mine is that when the battery goes completely dead, there is no playing it while it's charging. You have to charge it up before it will play even while plugged in.

I don't know if that's correct or not, but just what I've noticed with mine.

Have you let it charge up completely, or does it even detect that the charger was connected?

If I run mine completely dead it has to charge about 10-15 minutes before I can play it plugged in. After that its fine.

yeah, when you run it very dead you get the battery w/ the ! in it. When you plug it in after that, it displays the battery with the power plug until it builds enough charge to play.l

is there a 1 year contract with the zune music program? something like 14.99 for unlimited music for a month. I've always wondered how that works.

I actually just signed up for this. Its $15 a month and you get Unlimited song downloads to your Zune for as long as you keep the service. Also every month you get to download and keep for your personal collection 10 songs.
