    Good Comedians?

I have a fairly long commute, and the radio is getting boring.

What are some good comedians I can listen to to make the drive a little more enjoyable?

Bill Cosby. Dated material, but very funny and always clean.

Andrew Dice Clay for the greatest hipster in a leather jacket. Always rude, always crude, always funny.

Leary and Carlin, if you like them, have a lot of material out there. Dat Phan is funny to listen to (like, twice and no more). I can listen to Kat Williams for a little bit at a time, funny if you can get past his like, mannerisms. I caught Dov Davidoff's Comedy Central Presents yesterday, he is funny but i dont know about the volume of his work. Pablo Francisco used to be funny, not sure if he has anything new out, same with Jim Gaffigan -- his style is a bit dry but still funny. Of course, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy, Bob Saget is funny and vile as all hell. Stephen Lynch does funny songs, if that's your thing. Demetri Martin, same type of deal -- you either like him or turn him off, I think.

Man I still have Carlin on vinyl, now if I still had a decent turntable I'd throw some on.

Jim Norton is great. I've seen him down in AC at the Borgata and I listen to him almost daily on the Opie and Anthony show. CAUTION because he is NOT for everyone . If you like dirty humor and more or less have no conscience, you'll love him.

this is actually a good weekend for this question, comedy central is doing their stand up of the year or whatev it's called. turn it on. or, comedy central presents on fri/sat nights can help find previously unknowns. there's a guy on right now, bill burr, funny dude

Some of my favorites that have yet to be mentioned: Mike Birbiglia (has a nice story-telling pace), Daniel Tosh (who Dane Cook would be if Dane Cook were funny), Dave Chappelle, Ron White (by himself, not part of the Blue Collar Comedy Butchers), Jeff Dunham (he's a comic ventriloquist, kind of hit-or-miss, some of his best stuff seems to be off-the-cuff, firing back at hecklers, etc.), Eddie Izzard (dude's weird, but brilliant), Jon Stewart (only seen him live, not sure how available any recorded standup of his is), Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr...

oh damn that list got long fast. Anyway, don't take any of our word for it, people's taste in comedy varies WILDLY. Copy some of these names, check out clips on youtube, and see if you like their style and would want to listen to a whole set's worth. Standup comedy is fantastic, everybody should be exposed to new comics as often as possible.
