I have a bad habit of starting a book, charging through it halfway, getting distracted for a few days with real-world obligations, then starting a new book instead of picking up the old one... I think I'm in the middle of five or six different books right now.

Plus, as a second-semester senior English major, I've got one or two things to read for class.

I have read that series too, loved it. I have yet to be disapointed by reading anything from dean koontz. I just got done reading "the husband" by Koontz good one too. also check out the Frankenstien series by koontz, tho you might want to wait till book 3 comes out. he wrote this series as a TV series for the USA network, it was suppose to be so good that martin scorcese signed ont to produce it. well USA came back saying they loved, but wanted to do some changes to it. scorecese droped out of it and then so did Koontz killing the project. so instead koonts released it as a book series, book 3 suppose to come out later this year. since its been almost a year since i read the last one, i might just re read all of them when i get book 3. oh and if you have not read it before, read the skeleton crew by stephen king. one of his first book, its full of short stories including the mist, that one freaked me out when i read it.

I've read all the Halo books. Sad, but my friend got me into them so I have always liked to keep up and knowing some background and more indepth plot never hurt.

Also ready most of Chuck Palahniuk's stuff. Started with fight club because i really enjoyed the movie and in most cases the books are better. This one was no exception. Then i read Survivor which wasnt bad. Then Choke, again, not to shabby and last i read was Rant. I like id, definitely kept with his style as the ending blew me away.

I've also read Into the Wild. Again, cause i enjoyed the movie and wanted to know more. My room mate had the book so i got to go more indepth into the adventures.

Now im just waiting on getting a chance to pick up I am Legend. Again, enjoyed the movie and then looked into it more. Read some things and saw the book was, in a sense, completely different from the movie and i liked where it went to I have been waiting to pick that one up.

Read some more back in the day but can't remember the names now....

I would say he has a dark sense of humor. If you know that going in and can share that sense of humor it's pretty good. In the base plot it could be pretty depressing but he has a way of adding little bits of comedy in there and true to his style he throws you for a loop at the end of the novel.

Everything else was pretty good. Fight Club is, well, fight club. I'm sure everyone has seen the movie and they did it pretty good justice but i still think the book was better. Choke was kinda dark too but along the same lines as survivor and then Rant was a world of it's own. Just a weird book, lol. The basis is kinda messed up and you dont see the ending coming at all! Still working on the rest of his collection but so far I've enjoyed everything I've read.

I'm re-reading The Hobbit. It's really pretty good. I can't wait to see what Peter Jackson does with this on the big screen.

If you like Tom Clancy, let me recommend Vince Flynn. It's really cool spy/assassin type stuff. The bad guys always end up getting what they deserve (more than some harmless waterboarding).

I'm a David Eddings fan myself. His first and second series, The Belgariad and The Malorean were good, but when he started co-writing with his wife, it kinda went down the draink
