computer program problems

so i have been trying to get limewire frostwire and ares to work on my computer but no p2p program will connect on my computer. i have kasperskey anti-virus and even when i put the programs in the exceptions or even turn it off i still cannot get the programs to connect. any help would be greatly appreciated.
