    Lawyers...Advise needed

So i'll make a very long story short.

    This involves life insurance...

So my father in law passed away. Coroner wrote down accidental death.

2 out of 3 life insurance policies paid.

The third one (AIG) has denied the claim.

Should my mother in law fight it?

    Some back story.

My father in law was battling cancer for some time. AIG has denied the claim stating that his illness was an underlying cause of his death.

He slipped in the bathroom and hit his head. They claim the the hit to his head if he had been healthy would not have resulted in death.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am not a lawyer by any means, but there is no reason not to spend the cash and seek legal council at the earliest possible time. My guess given the companies current financial status they are trying to contest every thing and will probably change their tune when they are served papers. just my 2 cents

Determine what a lawyer is going to cost versus what AIG's payout will be....

If its close, i wouldnt bother. If its alot of money - Go for it.

In any event, sorry for your loss.

Seeking legal advice on a paintball forum is a bit ridiculous, in my opinion. Seek legal counsel with experience dealing with insurance companies (ambulance chasers, a lot of them). Get a consult, it shouldn't cost more than a few hundred, and from there make a decision. I would make sure that the potential payout (and potential settlement amount, I would think) is something that comes up in discussion.

        IANAL.

Never underestimate the knowledge of your fellow magger.

I guess my real question (To someone who is a lawyer) is:

Seek legal council to press the issue

          or

Accept their answer and move on with life

resubmit your claim and go from there . they are just hoping you will take no for an answer and go away.
