    Paypal?

Well, I was a bit disappointed. Apparently paypal has started charging a 2.9% fee across the board for domestic transactions.

I signed up a long time ago, and as long as you didn't use a CC, the service was free. Alas, that is no more.

Once you had an account that would accept credit cards you were charged the fee regardless if you took CC or not as I understood it.

At one time you had the option to pay a higher fee for a limited number of CC transactions a year, with the free account.

It used to be, paypal was free, until you had a CC payment - Then you had the option to upgrade to a 3.5% account, and lower fees on CC payments... OR keep it free, but have a limited number, of high-charged CC payments.

This is how it works to my knowledge now.

All buisness transactions are now held to a fee%. I am not sure if this varies from cc%, but it appears to be the same.

Apparently there is a place where you can click "personal". The lady at paypal (some indian lady) told me that this is for family members to send you money.

I gave a theoretical situation of what if a friend owed you money would that be "personal". She said yes.

I know I have alot of friends who "owe" me money. That is the loop hole I am going to use for now.

              Just paid using "Personal"

              I owed my e-friend money.....

No fees for me, No fees for him..

Also, it seems theres an option "You can avoid fees by sending from your bank account."

I dont have the numbers on hand, else i woulda got it all set up, but apparently if you send payment right out of your checking/savings - You dont have to worry about fees?

Thats the way it use to be. I am under the understandiing that all of them are now charged unless personal.

I would wager a guess that checking "personal" = no protection provided
