    Picked up a Ruger SP101

So, I decided for hiking I really did not like my Glock G20 10MM. Nice gun but the grips are simply too think. I picked up and actually range shot a 1911 style 10MM - Colt Delta Elite but was not overly impressed, and the accuracy was... well rather poor really.

I did however get a chance to try out a Ruger SP101 in 357 with the 3 1/16 barrel. A touch on the heavy side but frankly its a Ruger so it will be able to handle as many rounds as I want it to.

I really like this, and am vaguely considering replacing my baby Glock as a day to day carry piece. To the point I ordered the Kramer holster for it - in a cheap galco (cheap being a relative term) it rides very well.

Few range days with it and it might just replace the Glock. 158 grain ammo seems to work very well from it, and when hiking I can load up some hard cast 180s. It gives up some shots on the Glock but I am familiar with tactical reloading of a revolver, and the vast majority of civilian gun usages use far less than 5 shots.

nothing pokes a hole like a HP Magnum
One of the things about revolvers , pull the trigger & they work
As far as Ruger goes i've owned 2 ( 357 single action & a 9mm ) never had any problems with either
