For those unaware there has been a shooting there. At least 7 killed, 30 injured, this per FOX News.

The shooters were soldiers. 1 killed on scene by "police forces" (unknown whether that is MPs or civilian LEOs or both), 2 still "suspects".

31 wounded, and I think I just heard 12 dead.

EDIT: MPs and Local LEOs responded. One civilian LEO was killed.

EDIT 2: I guess there were soldiers getting ready to deploy and the initial shooting was in a building where soldiers were getting last minute medical/dental/etc. stuff done before shipping out.

The primary shooter was identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. It is unclear as to whether or not he was going to deploy or was there to support the deployment of others. He was a psychologist or psychiatrist or some sort.

Apparently he was just royally PO'd about being transferred and deployed. There is some speculation that he had specific targets based on prior interactions reference the shooter trying to get transferred or out of the military completely. It almost sounds like he was gonna kill everyone that told him no.

Ive got my own theory.

Considering that the majority of mosques in America teach the form of Islam taught in Saudia Arabia (most are owned and operated by S/A I think, been a while since ive seen the facts for myself but im pretty sure thats what I remember reading a few years back.) and the guys name I think it was more along the lines of domestic terrorism. I think it was this guys way of preventing soldiers from going to Iraq/Afghanistan and killing more of his "brothers."

I was following this before it even got on the news. One of my friends Uncles is a terrorism expert for the military and he was passing on the information to my friends family as soon as he got it because her brother and his family are stationed there. We were about 15 min ahead of everyone else as far as intel goes.

I stopped paying attention around 6 central so if anything has happened since then I dont know about. This is just my theory.

And just for the record my friends family is safe. They were in Comanche 2 when it happened but were close enough to hear the screams and gun shots.

Regardless of what happened or why he did it im glad hes dead. Im going to be a Marine soon so this really hit home for me. In a year im going to be going through the same type of installation where this started.

Are you sure they arent talking about another shooter? from what I remember they said the Maj. was dead and that there may or may not have been other shooters. Initial reports said that there were two shootings and Ive yet to hear anything else about them going THROUGH Comanche 4 which was also in initial reports that my friends Uncle got.

The other two suspects were released. They attempting to assist, or that is what is being said. Major Malik Nadal Hasan is alive and listed in stable condition, per FOX News right now. It cam out a little over 90 min ago that he was the sole shooter.

EDIT: OMG is there more to the story. He was transferred from Walter Reid because he was a problem there. They are now also saying that he drew attention to himself because of suspicious internet activity, and this was apparently not acted upon soon enough. There is also a bunch of backstory regarding his trying to be relieved from service obligations in some way or another.
