OK. When I check posts in the forum, my computer used to go back to the one I was looking at. Now it goes back to the top of the page so i have to scroll down everytime to get back to where I was. I haven't changed anything. Anyone know what I mean?

thats what mine does on here , other sites it will return to where is was on the page ( top , bottom wherever ) -
I don't know about the change in your results, but I do know that when you load a thread and it jumps to the bottom of the page there is something different with the URL.
Normal URL: http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2688673
Post jump URL:http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...73#post2688673
the difference is right at the end, the jumping URL has this #post2688673 on the end. I am assuming that the post is is jumping to would be the 2688673rd post forum wide.Comment

My machine doesn't go back to where I was in a thread if I try to scroll before the page is loaded.
In order to better assist we will need to know what OS and browser you are usingComment

XP Pro and IE 8.0. It never used to do this. I don't know what has changed or how to fix it. I checked all settings I know of...Comment

did you upgrade to IE 8 Recently around the time this issue started?
Try clearing your browser cache and see if the problem goes away. Make sure to include Offline files when you clear the cache.
From what i've found the issue is related to browser caching methods it seems as though something changed with IE8. What changed i can't seem to track down right now.
If I Can't come up with something I'll call my friend that's a developer with Microsoft once he gets in to work for the day.
If i turn off caching in Chrome, firefox, or opera they all behave the same way as you are describing with IE 8.
I don't have IE 8 on the machine i'm running on right now as it's not approved for our use on machines that touch our Corporate Network.
when i get a few minutes later today i'll swap over to my Windows 7 Drive that is running IE 8 and see if i can troubleshoot a little more.Comment
