    Statue of Liberty

    You have NEVER seen a picture of the Statue of Liberty like this one!
    It is amazing that this photo, taken so many years ago, actually still exists! And now, someone has put it online for all of us to see.

    This INCREDIBLE picture was taken in 1918. It is 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at CampDodge in Iowa .

    EIGHTEEN THOUSAND MEN!!!!! What a priceless gift from whoever saved the photo!!

    Base to Shoulder: 150 feet
    Right Arm: 340 feet
    Widest part of arm holding torch: 12 1/2 feet
    Right thumb: 35 feet
    Thickest part of body: 29 feet
    Left hand length: 30 feet
    Face: 60 feet
    Nose: 21 feet
    Longest spike of head piece: 70 feet
    Torch and flame combined: 980 feet
    Number of men in flame of torch: 12,000
    Number of men in torch: 2,800
    Number of men in right arm: 1,200
    Number of men in body, head and balance of figure only: 2,000
    Total men: 18,000

          That's some pretty impressive planning that must have gone into that picture. You know one guy stuck in the middle definitely had to take a leak at some point.

              Their are 17 people in the front row, no way their is anywhere near 18000. Maybe 1800 but I doubt their are even that many. You can see a point about 3/4 of the way up the body when it looks like it isn't people any more. Not like it tapers off like they are getting to far away but just a sudden cut off.

                  Not hard at all when you realize the torch and flame is 980' tall, while the body (feet to shoulder) is only 150'.
