    Good old USPS...

Well saturday i checked on the package that has the two guns that i have been eagerly waiting for and it said that they were in illinois about a two hour drive from where i live. I thought "oh awesome, i'm going to get them monday, i can't wait."

Then i checked the tracking info today to see if it was out for delivery and found this garbage:
    Status: Missent

Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

    Detailed Results:

    Missent, July 12, 2010, 8:28 am

So my question is has this ever happened to anyone and what happened. Did it just get put on a plane because they're incompetent and i'll have to wait longer, or am i potentially out of the money i paid? Any info on this would be helpful, this is a first for me.

This same exact thing happened to me about a week ago on something that I purchased on Ebay. I wouldn't be alarmed because I received my package the next day.

Ok, thank you, that's mainly what i wanted, someone to ease my worries, because it doesn't say where it was missent to.

2 weeks ago I checked a tracking number and it read delivered. Funny, I didn't have the package anywere on my property.

So I went to the local Post Office and asked about it. They took my number and said they weould call me. An hour later the local Post Master General himself showed up on my doorstep with my Deadlywind carbon fiber barrel package.

A temp fill in carrier had delivered it to the right house number, only 2 cal-de-sacs away from my house. Oops, at least they made it right and took the time to track it down.

Yeah, that kind of thing happens all the time. I used to work for UPS and we'd regularly get packages that were misrouted. Our zip code here is 93405 (San Luis Obispo, CA), the Idaho Falls zip code is 83405, so we'd get at least one package a week that was supposed to go there.

I had a board for my Viking and a program cable on the way. The item was marked as delivered, but also had a note about a PO Box that I don't have. Still haven't seen it.

I've had this happen to me. There are 2 POs near me. Stupidly, the one 5 mins from the house isnt ours. The one 15 mins away is.... go figure. Anyway, I had a package that was marked as "missent' to the PO that was right down the road from me, but they dont deliver to me, so it went all the way back to the distrobution center. In the end, it took an extra 3 days to get my stuff. That package was only 3 miles away and it took 3 days to get here. Thats the UPSPS for you.

Yeah, luckily i just checked it and found out that it's in my city, but all it says is that the sorting there is completely, and it was completed at 9 am, so it looks like i'm not getting it until tomorrow. Still, this is ridiculous because it was given to the post office on the 7th and then it didn't leave jersey until the 9th (where it was dropped off). It shouldn't have taken this long to get here, but it's all ok in the end so i'm happy, that is unless the guy lied about the cocker...

I have only had 2 bad encounters with USPS over the 4-5 years Ive been using them to ship PB items.

The first encounter wasnt their fault..at least not to my knowledge. The second time I had ordered an ACOG Replica and SCAR Rear sight off of Ebaybanned.com and USPS lost the package. I called all the places that it said it was currently at and no one could find it/take responsibility for losing it. For that reason I will no longer order from Ebaybanned..I just dont want to full with international shipping.

Looks like the PO box thing may have happened to me too. If it doesn't show up with the mail then i'll have to go down to the post office and ask them what is up with my package

Luckily the package came and i got my guns, one sans macro which i don't have so i'll have to test that tomorrow, the other is leaking which probably explains why i got it so cheap, gotta check out the valve again cause the seat was fine but the front o-ring may be the cause of the leak.
