Been shooting a lot of critter macros lately. Thought Id share some of the better ones.


Two Green-blue Long-legged flies (Condylostylus) makin' Maggots!


An Orchard spider (Leucauge venusta) having lunch.


A very large female gardenSpider (Argiope aurantia). She was at least 6" across.


Blue-green Citrus Root Weevil (Pachnaeus litus) on a rose bloom.


I have yet to identify this leafhopper as of yet. Pretty sweet colors though.


Female Blue Dasher dragonfly (Pachydiplax longipennis) ..... try to contain youself children.

lol. The photos look great, especially the spiders. I probably would have tried squashed the flies or catch them to drop in some spiders web & then shoot the outcome.

Here is another crazy one. This is an Australian garden orb weaver (Eriophora ravilla). Less than 1/2" across.
