Just some Custom Work I did in school, Thought I would Share.

So I just finished my Custom Paint class and thought I would post up some of the stuff I did in the past 3 weeks.
First I got my main project. It was done on a 1/4 scale hood (I made), Base coat is Psycho Silver with a carbon fiber effect around the racing stripes. Ontop of the Carbon I put 6 coats of Charcoal Candy paint to darken it. Then just did some airbrushing work for the ak's


Then I made some metal roses and painted them with a Candy Red and Green. If your interested in buying one PM me an offer.


Then a smaller airbrush project we did on a licends plate, almost all of it is done with stencils. (it was hand pinstriped though) lol

To paint a Whole car with the Carbon fiber and Ak's probably like $12,000? But thats the problem with custom paintjobs, Everyone wants it but no one wants to pay for it.

More so these days with the economy being what it is. But if you have the skills people will pay for them. Just have to find better clients. Or a shop that already caters to that type.

wtf $12k!!! Maybe I phrased my question wrong. I meant, say I took the class you took. How much would it cost me to buy the airbrush stuff and all the paint for covering a whole car with one main color and a few details in other colors, and about how much time would that take?

I guess if painting cars was as easy as I thought it was there would be more of them. I think it would be cool if there weren't so many boring stock cars.

Questionful- Well to take the class I took is $25,000, I Go to UTI and the Collision and refinishing course is 25G's. But an airbrush is about 50-70 for a decent one. Now for paint guns for painting the whole car can get costly. You can get a crappy set for $200. But if your looking for high end guns I prefer Sata's that run about $1000 a gun. And as for paint Im not entirely sure on how much that will be. Cause you would need the actual paint then reducers and activators, the primer and clears. and not to mention the sand paper to prep the car + masking materials. So yeah its expensive lol.
