Paintball Marker or Pistol and if Pistol what pistol?

Soooo we got our taxes finished and decided to do what we did last year, which means i have $400 and change to spend allll by myself. On one side I have a few things I would like to buy to get my gear ready for spring OR after my having to grab a pry bar from my trunk to stop some punk from robbing my car I have been thinking about getting a pistol, something small because I want my wife 5' nothing 100 and nothing to be able to shoot it too.... I want to keep in or below $400. Just from glancing I was thinking of maybe a ruger .22 pistol, but really I figured I'd get the opinion of ya'll since so many of you have vast experience with things that go bang, and who knows maybe next year I'll get that .475 Wildey Magnum I've been wanting forever

On an add on one of my friends suggested a PMR-30 which I have never heard of but it looks like a cool....plastic gun
