Considering the Osama's Dead thread was so much fun, I will try to liven this one up a bit too. It' does look promising.

Here is a page w. a couple of links from NASA, M.I.T., Nature.com, etc., that states that the CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING is.... (wait for it.... drum roll plz )... THE SUN!!!

this is also not true. we measure the suns output via satalite and the data shows quite convincingly that there has not been a large change in solar output in the last 80+ years.

also, inforwars is not a peer reviewed scientific journal, and thus makes a poor source for a scientific argument.

and as a final argument, pointing out unseasonably cold weather has NOTHING to do with athroprogenic climate change. it would be an equal argument to unseaonably warm weather being proof of it. and yet, anyone who knows the science will not post "dang its hot, must be the climate changing" beacuse they understand that simple fact. we could (and have) hit record lows in North America at the EXACT same time as other parts of the world are hitting record highs, and none of that has anything to do with the process and understanding of athropogenic climate change. its a climate model, not your 5 day forcast.

now, no one is saying that solar forcing doesn't change the climate, just that the current data shows either a slight drop or near level effect in the last 100 years. this means that solar forcing does not explain the majority of the current warming.

I don't dispute that the Earth is warming. I dispute the misconception that man has anything to do w/ it.

Some here may also be of advanced enough age to remember that a new Ice Age was all the rage in the 70's. I was taught in grade school that from 1940-70's, the Earth was cooling off. Riddle me this then. How come Pluto (whos orbit constently taking it farther from Earth), Neptune, Titan (a moon of Jupiter w/ an atmosphere), Venus and others are all show signs of warming as well? Mars' ice caps are melting. Earth is just trending that way too.

How would you explain the 1930's being the hottest/driest decade, and 1934 the hottest year - not 1998. Dust Bowl anyone? (...and cars weren't mass produced yet.) And how about the increase in solar activity, ie. solar flares? Remember the problems they were 'supposed' to cause with electronics and the power grid a few months ago?

No one will dispute that the sun has become more active, except for Global Warming goofballs.
Fact: The Earth temp has only increased 1.5 degrees since 1880.
And Another BIG Fact: The scientists from the IPCC (read: anti-American U.N. flunkies) were cooking the books, so they can fleece more $$ out of the U.S.A.

this is actually totally and completely false. there never has been and never was a scientific consensus on global dimming - http://www.youtube.com/user/potholer.../2/EU_AtHkB4Ms newsweek is not a peer reviewed scientific journal. if you trust a source on science that also covers lady ga ga, then you really need to become a more decriminating media consumer.

the processes that warm and cool planets other then our own have no effect on those that warm and cool ours. they have totally different cores, magnetic feilds, atmospheres, and surface properties (including but not limited to radatitive properties). currently mars is thought to be warming due more blackish dirt being exposed and thus higher absorbion vs the lighter red .... just one such example.

acutally, 2006 and 1998 are the two hottest years on record. again, not that that matters, a single years temp can and will be different then decade long trends.

all the data shown from indirect and direct measurment of the sun's output shows that is is not the cuase. believe what you want to, but the data disagrees with you.

It certainly was this year! Thank God for Global Warming!! We recieved 520"+ by closing day, April 24th. (cockerpunk will prob. dispute this somehow. )
A record setting year, and it hasn't stopped snowing yet. Just skied 13" of fresh pow at A-Basin on Sat. Glorious!
