wow thats retarded, touchscreens have been around a lot longer then apple has been using them."because every vengeful cop with a lesbian daughter, is having a bad day, and looking for someone to blame" -
i dont have a clue how Apple pulled this off. A never had a clue how SP patented electronic triggers either. Something is screwy in the patent office I think.
I wonder what I can start mass producing that's been around for years that I can patent.

Haha i have just filed patents on the sphere, cylinder, lever, screw, and ring. Sorry cocker but your patent on threaded fasteners infringes on my patents. I will see you in court. Now I am off to retire. Who knew the patent office could be influenced by ignorance and a few sticks chewing gum.Comment

I just read the CNET article, and to me it sounds like Apple is not saying they invented touch screens in general, but is saying they invented gesture-based shortcuts (ie, draw a 'W' on the screen and the device opens the web browser, draw an 'N' on the screen and it opens the notepad, etc).Comment

it's a little less specific than that. basically, anytime you touching the screen causes something to happen, you're taking advantage of an idea Apple invented. You touch an app icon, it opens the app. Apple invented that concept.Originally posted by guseppe16I just read the CNET article, and to me it sounds like Apple is not saying they invented touch screens in general, but is saying they invented gesture-based shortcuts (ie, draw a 'W' on the screen and the device opens the web browser, draw an 'N' on the screen and it opens the notepad, etc).
so Apple claims, anyway.
