Tapatalk looks good so far. Might need to edit the header though :-)

I installed Tapatalk today - worked fine.
One thing dad did cause it to crash (repeatedly, doing the same thing) was when I tapped on a member's name while in a thread and wanted to send a message to that person (using of the contextual menu you get once you click/tap on a user).
Don't know if anyone else has had that happen to them?
But apart from that it looks like a sweet app. Now I can stalk AO way quicker and all day long!

It's nice having AO, MCB, and custom cockers all in the same place and format - makes forum searching so much quicker for me on mobile.I installed Tapatalk today - worked fine.

It was too complicated, I couldnt figure it out.
Really pissed me off when I saw it signed me up for AO as going_home01 .
That was enough for me to uninstall it.
Delete user going_home01 mods.
I'll stick with the web page, no issues with it, why fix it when it aint broke.

Its not a "fix" but more of another road to get to AO. I personally was super excited when it told me I could use Tapatalk for AO. This app is almost the only way I view MCB and CC. Just hate the new updated version of the app. Really miss my simple app but I'm figuring it out. Thanks flampaint!Comment

whoa, hold on... I'm getting credit for sth I didn't do here... with "I installled Tapatalk today" I meant that I installed it on my mobile device (not on AO - I wish I had the rights to do so...
).... so, sorry for causing confusion with that comment...
As for the bug: it seems to be device- and OS-specific (I use Android Lollipop 5.0.1 on a Samsung S5). From what Laku told me for example, he doesn't encounter that issue and he uses an iphone with his corresponding OS... So, long story short: seems to be an issue the Tapatalk people need to figure out (already submitted four crash reports to them) and not the good people here at AO..
and sorry for the OT...Last edited by flampaint; 02-15-2015, 01:10 PM.Comment

For the time being it will only be applied to Luke and XMT, I do want to do some community stuff with badges this summer.
I agree. That is a Vbulletin thing. I did write up an article that helps with searching 3 letters though.
In the latest version of Vbulletin it made it difficult to search for 3 letter terms. The fix is to mess with a few database settings and I really don't want to corrupt automags.org database. :) An easy way to search for terms such as SFL, mag, PTP, etc. add an asterisk to the end of the term. Using the truncation operator For example searching the term "TAC*" It will retrieve entries for all posts containing the words: Tac One, Tac-One, TacOne. SFL* TAC* PTP*Comment

Oh, I get it now. Still like the idea though, especially if it can be a link. "Click here to spend money" indeed!
And thank you for the 3-letter tip! I had no idea and it's been driving me insane for a long time.Comment
