I was wondering how many people at this board are superstitious. By superstitious meaning with the normal known superstitions such as with black cats, walking under ladders, etc. and with your own superstitions, possibly such as rituals you do before doing something or lucky charms (not witchcraft) or whenever you do something you always have to do it the same way (ex. your morning routine for getting ready). I am basicly only superstitous with normal known ones, don't have any routines or such. So are you superstitious?

I guess I'n not so much superstitious as I am neurotic. I live in New York and we have all these metal trap doors in the sidewalk that lead to basements and what not. I hate walking on them. ACtually, I can't walk on them because I'm afraid that they are gonna open up on me a drop me somewhere.
Also, and this one is a doozy, I cannot walk up the stairs from my parents basement if the lights are out in the basement. I actually paid to have an additional light switch put at the top of the stairs so that I could walk up the stairs, then turn out the lights.
Keep in mind that I'm 28.
Here's another one. I can't stand to have my food mixed up on my plate. You know, you have a little section for your meat and a separate section for your veggies and then a third for your pasta/starch. I love those sectioned plates.
God, I'm such a freak.Return to the free market. Get rid of all government regulations and let society make it's own decisions. Time and again the relaxing of government regulations has increased profits, innovation and the economy. -
im somewhat superstitious but not so much with the normal things(walking under ladders, black cats, etc.) im superstitious about weird things. and i also pretty much do the same things every day, like wake up, take a shower, get dressed, drink a faygo, grab my money, go to school. also for some odd reason every morning i get out of the shower at exactly 7:32 AM, i have never figured this out but its kinda weirdClassic RT - RT02667

Right now i'm not superstitious at all.
This one time...
I was around 7 or 8 years old, my parents had a mirror I liked to play with. They got angry when I was playing with it (it was a little like 4in * 6in thing), so they decided to scare me out of touching it. They decided to tell me all these horrer stories about how breaking mirrors was bad luck, and all the things that would happen if I broke one. It didn't work on me, and I kept messing with the thing, and one day I broke it. I was flipping out for the rest of the day, then I figured it out and was just pissed. I'm wierd I guess, sorry.

not really superstitious but I have a thing about having the lights out, sitting on the edge of my bed and having my feet hanging. I dont remember what movie it was from, but someone gets the back of their foot sliced while doing that and I've never gotten that mental picture out of my mind. It's not like Horror movies scare me or anything, I guess it's pretty stupid

I'm not superstitious per se, but I do believe in a lot of things that other people don't, such as witchcraft.
If anyone cares to discuss that or call me a fool, they need to explain the disappearance of the Spanish armada & what Sir Francis Drake was doing that night first. That's just one of many, many phenomena. Then again, maybe I dated too many Wiccan girls
I also believe in luck as an existence of aural energy, both good and bad, which warps the fields of probability around some people more than others.
I think that some things also have supernatural energy bound to them, which I suppose could be called superstitious.
Anywho.

K, it might not be a good idea to admit to this but...
I have a thing about cracks in the sidewalk. It's not that I can't walk on them, I can. It's just that, if for instance, I step on a crack with my right foot, I need to step on another similar crack with my left foot, so they're even. I also have to push all the buttons in my drink lid and fold up the straw wrapper in a precise manner before I start eating at a fast food place.

HAHA that sounds like excessive cumpulsive disorderI step on a crack with my right foot, I need to step on another similar crack with my left foot, so they're even. I also have to push all the buttons in my drink lid and fold up the straw wrapper in a precise manner before I start eating at a fast food place.
We all do the pushing the buttons in on the drink lid thing though, it just makes me mad when it is not. When playing baseball I refused to step on the chalk when running onto the field. On the paintball field I always count off ten nine eight seven six and then stop. I never say five four... for some reason. That is as "supersticous" as I am.
Famous SEAL quotes:
"Give us your mind, and we will take care of your body"
"We aren't superman, he does things the hard way. Why leap tall buildings in a single bound, when you can blow it up and walk over the rubble"
"Pain is just weakness leaving the body"
"It is not my job to judge our enemies, that is God's job, it is my job to arrange the meeting"
"I will treat you all the same, JUST LIKE CRAP!"Comment

Ok, I got a few strange ones. First, when I play cards, I ALWAYS wait until the dealer picks up his hand. I have no idea where this came from. Also, when I am in a public place, I cannot have my back to the door. This used to peeve my ex off...I just feel uncomfortable not seeing who comes in. Last, (this one comes from a movie), I cannot sleep with a closet door open. I saw poltergiest at the movies when it first came out...and that movie scarred me psychologically. I am 31...so it is kinda weird. I think it is more habit now than anything else...but, you never know.

I'm kinda superstitous i guess. before every game i sit in a dark room naked and say the alphabet in a british accent backwards. Then I get in the feedle position in the shower while wearing all my close and rock back and fourth saying "UNLCEAN!" I do that 27 times exactly then go play.
