I'm surprised no one has suggested a CBR929 powered mower.

Ariens is the shiznits
I dont know where there made or how much they cost but there advertised as commercial mowers. There the orange ones. I'll I really know about them is that there tough as hell. We bought our used a couple years ago when it was a couple years old already and its still handleing. We maitain a number of properties so it get quite a lot of use. Its been through hell to. To move it from sight to sight my dad bought these ramps to get it in the back of his truck. Wihth his old f150 it was fine but when he tried it with his dodge ram big *** diesel it fell of near the tailgate which is pretty high. It still worked fine only some dents and it seems tweaked and the front wheel is wobbly. My dad treats it well execpt when he goes through sand and gravel but when I drive it watch out. I've gotten it to do a 1 inch wheely, burn outs in dirt, 270s on wet grass, stuck in a ditch and everthing. So far only minor wear and tear problems. I dont know much about the other types but only that its a good mower.Comment

Craftsman
The thing with Craftsman that you need to keep in mind is that, they are not original. Sears buys the rights to another product and puts the Craftsman name on it--Just like Kenmore. So you really can't say that Craftsman, in itself, is a bad brand. I recently purchased a Craftsman walk behind with a 6 hp Briggs and Stratton. It runs like a champ! I also owned a little Muray with a 1.5hp Tecumseh engine for over 2 years, and that ran good. You could buy a Lawn Boy with the same 6hp B & S engine in it as the Craftsman, and you could be trouble-plagued from day one. It's just all relative to the particular product that you buy.

For bigger jobs ( over 2 acres) get a Kabota or a Deere, I prefer Bota's, since all small to mid size tractors use Japanese parts what difference does it make who's your buying? For a small lawn/garden tractor, deeres and Fords are nice, but over priced, If you can Find one go with a WHEEL HORSE, Mine is over 20 years old and will out pull, cut scrape, till just about anything out there, I even pulled an F-!50 from a ditch with it a year ago, havent seen any small lawn mower acomplish that yet. If your going with a push/walk behind try a Lawn Boy, mine is 12 years old this month. Still gives an excellent cut (cut due to annualblade change and sharpen, tehe)& runs smooth. Walk behind industrial size, SCAG or Exmark. They are more dependable and have less gee-gaws on them, reducing chances of product failure due to extras not living up to the mowers expectation.Comment
