    prosumer digital camera suggestions

    I'm looking for a high end consumer grade digital camera (4.0+ Mpx) for $700-900, SLR is a plus.

    I'd like to know if anyone has had any experience in working with a rig similar to what I am looking for. The Olympus E10 is in the lead right now, but since I won't be picking one up for another 2 or 3 weeks, I'd like to be as educated of a consumer as possible.

    I just asked my friend who knows a good deal about digital cameras this. He recommended waiting until Foveon's technology comes out in new cameras, it's supposed to be way better picture quality.

      yeah, the only down side is that that format of CCD will be well above the $2500 mark for quite a while.....i am looking forward to it though....mmmmnew format of pixel <drools on self>

      //edit//

      the only currently planned camera with this new tech is the <a href="http://www.sigma-photo.com/Html/news/news_sd9_fs.htm" target="_blank">Sigma SD9</a> - $2995, if you are any format of technophile i suggest checking out the technology. it basically stacks three sensors on top of each other to produce a near film quality image (very near from what i've seen)

      and the winner is the olympus e10, god its pretty - http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/olympuse10_samples
