ok, not to get anyone torqued here... but there hasn't been a post by a christians in 4 posts... you guys are agreeing with eachother and continuing to try and prove your point over that of the christians here. I told you I would take that thread out and I did.

I post this note just to let you know you didn't hold my standarts for keeping that thread active. Just because there isn't a war, doesn't mean that I'm not hurting to have to read that CRAP. I choise not to defend it to keep something from breaking out and to keep the thread alive. Shame on you for not doing the same.

Anyway, back to punk bands. List 'em I wanna hear what you got... since I didn't have time to do check out all the ones that were listed in the earlier thread.

Basically what everyone else said. I know many people here are gonna critize me for saying punk = pop but its true. Pop stands for pop, which means popular culture, and im sorry guys but listening to punk is the cool thing to do. So pop = punk = MTV TRASH!!

Joker- I never indicated that those were punk bands, I only meant that it's what I used to listen too... sublime sounds nice in a car with over 1000watt going to 2 12" subs.. and watching their music vid on a 5" roof console mounted flat screen but alas, I don't care for it a whole lot anymore.... I prefer a different type of lyrics....

It used to be that in order for your band to be labeled as punk, you had to write music denouncing government corruption and political b.s. Most of today's "punk" bands are just corny--which, sadly, does equal "pop." I'm sorry, but Blink-182 is pop.

So all I have to say to that is, Pennywise kicks ARSE! As far as old school (re: real PUNK ROCK) I would have to say that the Misfits and Dead Kennedys are my two faves. I haven't seen anyone mention The Dickies yet...

Oh, and I haven't heard a D.R.I. song in ages--they were cool! Crossover is probably their best album; however, I don't see them as punk, but more speed metal.
