Question for any field owners or operators

So, I'm helping the local field get organized for the upcoming season and one of my projects is building a mounting system for the rental guns.

Right now, I have it framed up, it measures roughly 88" long by 65" high, with three vertical supports and six cross supports. It is sitting on an 1 1/2 by 10" base, with 45 degree cross beams. The frame will be mounted in the back of a corrugated trailer so the frame itself will be more than sturdy enough to support the weight. I don't have a photo so hopefully that description will suffice.

So my question is, what would be the best way to mount the guns to the rack so it's easy enough to remove them but sturdy enough to support them. There will be roughly 100 tippman 98 (not sure if that is the exact model but in my mind they are the modern version of the old pro-am with the vertical foregrip). The field wants to keep the tanks mounted on the guns.

My thought was to get peg board and use hooks but my fear is that over time the peg board will wear out from constantly taking them off and putting them back on, especially when things get hectic and they are just yanked off and thrown back on.

Any other ideas for a mounting scheme?

If anyone else has a photo of what has been used before I'd be more than happy to scrap this idea in favor of something that would work much better.

Is Battlegroundz looking for help? I can't do anything until later in the Spring, but after LL7, I've got some time.

We don't use model 98's but we do use A-5's.
Can't get a picture of our set-up for a few days, when I do I'll post it.

It's just a simple 2x6 cross brace. With another 2x6 mounted higher. The whole section is then mounted out about a foot from the wall space behind. The bottle stays on the gun. You rest the gun on the grip in the same space your hand grips between your index finger and thumb. The bottle is then inside the lower 2x6 and the weight of it keeps the barrel pressed against the top 2x6. We have over 100 A-5 sitting that way. Very easy to get off and on the rack quickly. There is no side to side support. Usually without any disturbance they don't move anyways and once you get a few in a row they hold themselves. Don't use a hook system. It will fail just like you imagined.
I'll try and post the pic later in the week.
      Good luck

Not forgotten. Have groups at field in the morning and will get a picture. Should post it Friday.

Btw we also use the same racks for hanging Automags. I'll show that too.
I assume I'm the only field left in the world that runs automags....

I used to play Foxriver back in the day. Up until I moved back in 1996. Foxriver's acres really had me spoiled. Never did rent one of your mags. Maybe if I did, I would have owned one sooner.

                Gun rack build

So here we go Debruynda, as promised, here are the pics.

This is a whole wall section empty. This is mounted to the walls of a shipping container.
All 2x6 construction. Makes it easy to do. I forgot to measure but you can probably figure it out by comparison.

Next are A-5's sitting on the rack as I described in the previous post. Fully ready to go right off the rack.

                Another view from front.

Side shot showing bottle behind first 2x6 with created gap between wall and guns.

                other side shot.

A lone Mag. Has a front vert grip and forward hose loop from reg to bottom bottle. But still sits the same way as the A-5's

A gaggle of mags. These have drop forwards and they actually sit in the gap between the tank and drop.
This Just shows that this rack style works with all kinds of set-ups. Plus where do you ever see that many mags....
200 more where those came from...

You should have the general idea from here!
Take care and good luck with your build.
