See, the thing for me is: Noises don't bother me much. Even very slight noises/creeks over complete silence in movies/video. Its when you see something that just instantly appears, where-as it wasn't previously there. Screw subtlety. That's in part why documentary-style movies are so entertaining/thrilling to me. Quarantine? VHS? The first Paranormal Activity. Even Cloverfield, IMHO. Bangin' scary movies.
