Gentlemen... you realize the combined capacity of the two towers, the Pentagon and Emergency personnel on the ground at the time of Collapse is near 100,000 people. And these could be close to the number in harms way. And so the deaths could be near that. This is an act of War.

WTC hit twice...both buildings are plummetted to the ground...them pentagon has been hit as well...the country is in lock down...aircraft in restricted airspce over washington,...possibly to go for the white hoiuse....Los Angeles is evacuating major buildings as well as every other major metropolis in the US...all air travel is shut down....any aircraft coming into the country is diverted to canada until further notice...


omygod...all the families...

the AA 767 jet had 90 passengers from Boston(second WTC hit)
let alone the 50,000+ employees in the two towers...

simply horrifying...

I am a designer in a major oil refinery in Philadelphia and it is a major terroristic taarget...if a refienry is hit...goodbye 20 square miles...

I have to agree with Shartley. I'm not normally a big fan of Bush, but this situation is perfect for a republican president from Texas.

As someone who lives right outside of NYC, less than 20 miles away. I don't know if anyone I know was involved at all. One of my friends who works in NYC called in sick, thank god. She would have been passing through the WTC right around the time the first plane hit. I have other friends, relatives, and neighbors who work in NYC, and hopefully they are all ok. This has hit all of us local to the attacks like a sack of bricks. I used to walk by the WTC towers every day, its still impossible to believe they are gone. I have friends in Falls Church, VA who I just talked to and are in the same state of shock I am.

I'm going to stop typing now because it's kinda hard to get my thoughts in order. Everyone out there who is personally affected, hang in there.

I have one plea to make to people. I don't know if saying this on AO will help at all, but it needs to be said. Do NOT lash out against any middle eastern citizens in your communities. There is a LOT of anger floating around the country right now, don't let it get pointed in the wrong place. Lets not repeat what we did to our Japanese citizens after Pearl Harbor. Practice it yourself, and try to keep others from lashing out as well. Trust me, I am not less angry at the people who did this than anyone out there. I am absolutely furious. But for once, I have trust that Bush will do what needs to be done.

I dont think there are any words to describe how unbelievabley tragic this is. President Bush is on the way back from Florida. Your right about the "cowboy". The "Don't mess with Texas" stereotype shall apply in a much larger scale I think.

Well said! Only the people behind this should pay.

Also let me add this; do not lash out politically. And try to blame those who we feel "should have known". Realy may be no such thing. Lets stick together on this one as Americans and champions of a free and open society which unfortunately makes this kind of thing possible. But lets not let them divide us and give up on that. Instead lets destroy them so the whole world can live openly and free.

Find and blame those who did it and then punish them severely.

Those Bastards need to feel the power of the US. Its been awhile, the US has been girls about alot of things in recent years, but htey cant walk on us anymore...

Hell...I would love to go back to the NAVY for this conflict...lemme get my hands on a my systems again...Tomahawk, Harpoon, and R.A.M. misile systems...
