Whoever Plays Day of Defeat or Knows Alot About Computers I Need Help

Alright, I downloaded the HalfLife Mod Day of Defeat and when I try to enter a game it gives me this message saying cannot load library(insert stuff here). Do you know what is wrong? It pisses me off, I've like reinstalled this thing like a bunch and it still gives me the same message. I run XP, may that be the problem? Or something with XP? Is it XP in general? Ahh!!!!

ok, the problem is most likely you downloaded the wrong mod or the mod you got is not compatable with windows XP. My first question is which version of Win XP are you using, Pro or Home? If you have Home you should not have a problem since it is made for games and general home use. If you are runnig Pro, then you could have a compatiblilty problem. Pro was designed to be used in business as a reliable system that does not crash. Where did you get the mod from. Maybe it was just a bad download and you did not get all of the files. Try redownloading it and installing it again. If that doesn't do anything, update you graphics card drivers. Which you can get from the companies web site. It that doesn't work try updating your sound card drivers. Done the same way as the graphics card. Go to the company web site that made your sound card and download the Windows XP drivers. If none of that works then maybe that mod just does not work with Windows XP or you need to wait for them to come out with one that is compatible with Win XP.

Are you using Half-Life or CS Retail?
              Are you patched right up?

              Latest HL version : 1.1.0.8
              Latest CS Retail : 1.0.0.3

Do you have DOD v2? did it install right? are you trying to connect to a DOD v2 server?

If the answer to all these questions = yes, then reinstall everything!

              Hooray!

I'd say your problem is you need the latest update for Half Life like Jonneh said. The latest is 1.1.0.8. Just run your Sierra Utilities Auto Update.
