we have not had a 7-11 around here for 35 to 40 years.

Man, I don’t think I’ve had a slurpee since I was in college.

I had been exposed to toxic mold and it resulted in sinus and an ear infection. The ear infection put pressure on the nerves to one side of my face leaving it paralyzed for about 3 months. This happened to include taste. Everything tasted like wax. Super spicy food wasn't spicy until it hit the back of my throat. The one exception to this was cherry slurpees. They were the only thing I found that I could taste. As such I took a fondness to them. Before this I had a slurpee about once a year. Even now (years after getting over it) I have them at least 2 or 3 a month.
