some idiot shows up at my kids school today with a gun (yup real thing) at the school my kids goto

first i need to find out who the parent was that alerted the school to this guy... i'm sure myself and the other parents are VERY graetful this person did what she did.... and that the school handled it extremly well with out scaring the kids (its a K thru 4th grade school) and got them all out and to a safe.....


of course all this happened while i was at work and didn't hear about it untill about an hour into it, when a guy showed up at my job lookin for on of my co-workers to let her know... there are a group of us that work at this factory and the news spread to all of us real quick.... we all stayed at work because the storyies we all got from families and frinds about it outside of work, said that all everyone at the school got out ok before the police got there...

some how the gunman got away.... and at this time(11:50 EST) they still have not caught him.... and no word weather or not the school will be open tomorrow..... also the school is about 1/4 mile from me right now.... and this is one thing i thought would have never hit this close to my home.....

I think I used to live near Easthampton, is that near Belchertown? Anyway, they outlawed guns at my high school 2 years before I got there. The hicks used to keep them in their trucks so they could hunt before and after school. We never had a problem, everyone was responsible with guns. It's pretty scary otherwise.

Kind of creepy huh,things like this will often give the parents the incentive to pull their child from the school into another school they feel is safer.But the scary reality is that this could happen at ANY time at ANY school.Man these gun things are getting out of hand.Why doesn't anyone put an end to this?...

I was really scared a couple of weeks ago on friday march 8th. it all started about last october when someone started making horrid drawings on the walls of our bathrooms(won't go into detail) and under every one of them, they would right 3-8-02. This continued all year. My school handled it very well by shuting down our school the day before and having a police force search my highschool for anything that could be alarming. They found nothing thankfully, and they still had school on the 8th. although there were probably about 20 officers just walking up and down the halls. a very scary day for me!

still as of of yet they haven't found the guy the went into my kids school... they had school today with a cop or 2 in the school and a couple of crusiers there before and after school and passing by quite often during the day.... hopefully they will find this guy real soon

I'm sure most public schools now have on site police officers on duty every day. I used to think, what is this world coming to when police officers have to be stationed on a school campus for security. Now I think in the inner city schools have metal detectors? What's next, those screening machines they have at airports?

well as far as i nkow the still have not found the guy... and there have been rumors about who it was and that the dont even ive around here, thouhg there is a kid going to the school that is related to that person... but there has been nothing substantional as of yet.....

on a good note... the police are do many more drive bys in the area around the school now and the only way to get into the school right now is either with a key to the door or ringing the good ole doorbell and having to wait for a staff member to open it for you.....
