      I don't remember being an embryo. And I don't know about you, but I know I was born with a penis. Had it all my life, so I think I know what I'm talking about. it is not about what you remember, nor if you were birthed with a penis. That is not the question, just the order saying your gender is what it is at conception.

      In quotes because it's just something I read in biology class studying chromosome reduction in haploids.

      Today there was a Mag 4 earthquake outside of Portland, ME. (initially a 4.1 - downgraded to 3.9)
      Not an area known for tectonic activity, but it was felt as far as Boston.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWgnEqTI0Jw silly person, there is no climate change. Listen to your political betters

      Or the 6.8 in Tibet that cracked five dams.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMswa44ncvE if it doesn'thappen in the US, it doesn'thappen. America first, lol

      Even in the US we're seeing increased vulcanism from the Long Valley Caldera all the way up to the Juan De Fuca in the Pacific Northwest. Ground swells at Mt Hood, Mt Shasta, Mt Saint Helens among others. Awfully close to Yellowstone, which has seen increased activity recently with portions of the park closed off for safety. Plus the earthquake swarms around St. Louis. If you know about New Madrid, that could be a concern.
      Even around places globally like Kikai and Tonga are showing signs.
      Sakurajima, Japan this month;

      I warned you I would bring up natural disasters. They scare me more than any politics. The earth is shifting under our feet and people ask "What is a Woman?". again, the republican party does not care nor do they believe in climate change, so you can bring up all the climate changes you want, but the red populous isn'tgoing to follow you, you damned treehugger. Also, you cannot dictate what some people will latch onto a in a "conversation", especiallyif they don't care.
      Red, red wine, makes me feel so fine

          Actually, I'm a 3rd generation tree farmer, not a tree hugger. I plant trees for the express purpose of cutting them down later.
          And I only mentioned natural disasters. You brought up climate change, once again attempting to distort the truth.

            What else? Too much to deal with. Alvin Toffler was right.

            Going back to the whole Jan 6th debacle;

            And this one struck me as the best way to deter crime. Talk about an FAFO example, although I doubt we would ever return to such spectacles.

            I'm curious about something. When I previously wrote about number of views on 1/19 the number was 796,573. Today, it's 814,101. Is this normal?
            Yes, I know most of those are bots or AI. But almost 18,000 in 10 days suddenly in a 2 years long thread? Doesn't seem normal for such a niche community.
            Who or what has attracted that amount of attention and who is being attracted? Not all attention is benevolent.

              So is the glass half full or is it half empty?

              A hurricane is a natural disaster when it impacts people, home and ecology. It becomes worse when the ocean temps rise, thus fuelling them to become stronger, making them reach higher proportions that start to effect people and areas not even on the coast.

              There have been books, fiction and history tells us that violence to deter crime doesn't work. Queens, princes and other high officials threatened the kings position, and thus lost their heads. The guillotine laid down royalty and commoner alike. Cutting off the hand(s) of a thief, did not stop people from stealing. Sowing a letter on a woman's shirt did not deter adultery.

              So why even give those thoughts the mere mention?

                  does it matter? Trump is proceeding to dismantle and rebuild the government as he sees fit, so who cares what yesterday's news had done, when the GOP is looking to the future...

                  Congratulations. You've discovered what Ernest Hemmingway described as "An ill wind that blows nobody good". (a dig at Benny Goodman, the famous sousaphone player.) congratulations, that was exactly not my point. I was referring to the fact that you can look at the same object and see different outcomes. Basically, you staring at your trees and not seeing the woods. And Hemingwaywas a drunk that was a poor writer and Goodman was a jazz pioneer. that is a correct statement until you realize that the temps are going above those changes and are happening for longer periods of time, i.e. not regularly. That is a major concern when the rainy season comes early or not at all.

                  If the glass is half empty or half full depends on whether you're filling it or emptying it out. Either that or it's the wrong size glass.
                  Similar to "if a tree falls in the forest, and no one hears it ~ does it make a sound?"
                  And yes, I'm implying that just because you didn't hear something doesn't mean it didn't happen.
                  So glad that you are aware of things that happen that you don't see, but it would be better to actually acknowledge them for a possible truth.

                        Yes trump is president, and I didn't vote for him, but he still lost in 2020 and Biden was the president, right?

                          Negatory on Biden winning 2020.

                          He was just standing behind the presidential podium, but he was just a sock puppet doing and saying what the handlers told him to do and say.

                            Why does that even matter. The bottom line here is that Biden was a one term president. His administration screwed the country up (personally the worst 4 years of my life in a very long time), and now hopefully we will regain world respect and dominance. Biden was a embarrassment to this country and had no respect world wide.

                            Like I said in a previous post I assume that any gains (like savings on gasoline or lower taxes to name a couple) you make in the next 4 years will be given to the LGBTQ community, not line your pockets.

                              This was a good one from yesterday. The confirmation of Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence.
                              From the short clip, it's hard to tell if (Dem) Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet had any pertinent questions;

                              The man starts with claiming that a tweet with a simple observation that in International Politics, perceived threats don't have to be real ones to provoke a response.
                              Ukraine joining NATO is similar to Cuba working with Russia in 1962. The U.S. had a response that closed that issue without going to war.
                              Claiming that merely pointing it out is somehow "You're with them, not us" while getting loud and agitated, talking over people.
                              Then Sen. Bennet demands to know if Edward Snowden is a traitor. As if Tulsi Gabbard is both judge and jury. Knowing full well that National Intelligence only provides information and leaves judgement to the Judicial Department.
                              And He keeps going on, so focused on His points repeating them over and over, He ignores all the important questions.

                              I can understand testing the equilibrium of a candidate, how they respond under pressure. But really asking, nay, demanding that a candidate for Director of Intelligence to commit slander, to call a man a "traitor" when he has not been convicted of that?
                              And getting angry about it? Sounds like another Joe McCarthy in the making.

                                Of course you can't say that trump lost, cause loosing is for looses and Trump isn't a looser. Except every attempt to make good on those claims fell short like repair a glass window with scotch tape.

                                Tsk, tsk, tsk. Guess you have time to slum it with the rest of us and even answered a post of mine. But I digress...

                                You would be right except that, he hasn't "fixed" the economy yet, hasn't brought down inflation. All things he said he would do on day one. I am not naive to believe that, yet egg prices have skyrocketed up. Where was trump's promise to help with groceries? And we have yet to get into the tariff war with what, half the entire world, which any economist will rightly say that it is a tax on only the consumer(you and I) and the tariffs will only tank the economy, not make it better. Not to mention during his 1st term, while people did recieve a small handout from the government, yet the only people getting a tax break was those top 1%, which none of us are. Plus. You even said that your taxes were less under Obama.

                                Plus, trump had the least majority percentage of votes of any president. So while he won both the electoral college and popularvotes, he was by no means a unaminous choice.,

                                So 2 weeks in and I won't be eating crow. And I highly doubt that I will in 4 years.

                                Hmmm, Snowden. Took secrets, released them because he didn't like what he found and then ran away to adviserial countries. Not very American is it? Funny, how you claim she or anyone can't be judge and jury, as there is no doubt in Snowden's actions and when people steal. So it is not slander, as there is not a question of if he did or didn't do. Snowden said he stole that infor.ation and released it. So, if there is not an agreement on how or why you should treat a traitor to this government, to the secrets that we keep, then there is not a unified way to be in agreement on how the government, in all 3 branches and the departments that stem from that, should be run.

                                But what is more striking is the fact that miss Gabbard met with al-Assad, on an unannounced, unauthorized meeting with a known dictator who was using chemical weapons against his own people, and supported him. Likewise how she was accepting gifts, from donors for trips thatcame from people that are adversierally against this country. Not to mention that she is, it seems a talking point on RT, and seemingly becoming a conduit for Russian talking points. While it is a necessary act to have relations government to government, in the higher ecelions, it shouldn't have the the possible DNI phone number on your countries enemies contact list.

                                But the sad part of it is, not just the fact that all these appointments that are going through congress and some of the least qualified people ever to be appointed, it is that the entire republican party just barely cares about doing what is right for the country, regardless of party.
