I ran into them as a teenager, in Santa Rosa Ca in 1976.
It was the "Mission of Scientology" then not yet called a church. I walked in over a free donut to take a survey. Also gave me the book Dianetics.
That was half a century ago. I read the book back then and have ignored them since. Yet, they have surprised me.
I figured they would vanish like Hari Krishna acolytes dressed in saffron robes in airports.

The very first paragraph made me question another person's intellect (again).
Pay attention to population growth, not the politics - not the number of seats in the House or Senate.
How much growth is sustainable? How many people can the resources and infrastructure support?
We already have a problem with housing and feeding our own veterans and citizens.

We can produce only so much. Food, fuel, shelter.
To actually want to increase demand on an already dwindling capacity seems like a foolish opinion.

Welfare was instituted as a temporary measure to provide relief during the depression nearly 95 years ago.
These days, welfare is a lifestyle for some. Welfare and programs like it, disincentives people from earning it for themselves.
Why work if Big Brother gives me what I need for free? Why not just steal the rest? After all, Mamdani says looting is not theft.
The police are defunded and courts let you walk so no risk. Why work if I can take?

Of course, nothing is free. So now Mamdani needs to play Robin Hood.
Tax the rich and give to the poor. The rich say "Keep the court, we're taking the ball".
