You're completely missing the point, this is not an argument, because clearly AO a problem with the lack of members using the site.

First off I dont know who the mod staff and dont care. It only matters if they keep the forum running without allowing nonsense that drives people away. That's the job of the moderation team, and they need to be active members themselves to do the job.

This is not about putting anyone on blast, its about having a conversation of how we can get the forum running in a way that people want to hang out here. People dont like the nonsense that comes with a unmoderated forum, so they left. AO use to be moderated strictly when Tom was calling the shots, as should be today out of respect for him. After all this is Tom's house whether he's here or not..

I guessed you missed my point, There are active moderators. I guess you are just unhappy with how they moderate. Maybe you should reach out to Beemer about your concerns. This is just like you to bring your battle to the court of public opinion, been there before....

I never said there were no active mods, that was never the point.

Clearly your intent is to stir the pot, there therein lies the problem and my entire point.

Your silly argument seems to be AO is perfectly fine operating without members and without new paintball content and conversations, just a handful of guys throwing insults back and forth. all disrespectfully in Toms house.

I haven't done business on AO for 6 years, frankly I dont need it because my customers know where to find me. This is not about me.
        This is about community.
This is about other techs and manufacturers that dont have a place to operate because of silly FB rules.
This is about new products (NOT mine) that only reach a limited number of people because the community is disjointed.
This is about Tuna and XMT that are only on AO, we all send (and promote) them what we can from other forums that they're not not part of.
This is about the next generation of players having up to date access to everything Mag related.
This is about new modifications people are offering.
This is about paintball and the Automag.
This is about all things Automag under one roof.
This is about father time and those that are and will be aging out taking their knowledge with them.
This is about the fact that AGD has a time line that shorter than people think and without a solid like minded community all will be lost.
This is about Tom Kaye's legacy.
This place has ran on simpleminded games long enough.

There's nothing wrong with your ideas but do I have my own, that is what this is about.

Part of the cancer in this place is Friendly Corner, it's referenced often in other forums as a way to NOT act. For many, Friendly Corner was just the last straw. It needs to go, its a unnecessary distraction from what is supposed to be the reason people are here, Automags.

AO needs no nonsense moderation that focuses paintball and that does not tolerate asshats that are only here to stir the pot for their own entertainment.

People will not come back only to see the same nonsense. Run it like Tom was here and there will be little to no issues..

Allow me to share an observation, "fun not allowed in this forum" .

BST is dead because of Zuckerberg.

Only those that need Tuna's help ever venture over here.

Everyone got old and barely plays any more, if at all.

I'm sorry you feel a certain way Matt, but a famous dead guy used to say frequently, "it is what it is".

Not throwing shade on your contributions to the mag community, but this is the now reality.

Just here for the fun and humor.

                  This is not about feelings...
People did NOT leave for better forums...
Reality is a choice the we determine ourselves...
People reach out to Tuna here because the Mag community steer them here to him...
"It is what it is" because it was allowed to happen and no one has attempted to fix it...
The AO community is still very active, you dont see it because you're not in it, you are here...

This place could be rebooted but whoever is running this place has to make a decision, leave it as it is and just bury it, or do what needs to be done with the management and run it like Tom was here. I think the reboot would be easy, but until its decided how this place will be ran and managed moving forward I wont be wasting my time.

People will come back if there's a reason to, reason is the easy part, the managers of this place just have to decide that's what they want.

If I knew who was calling the shots I would gladly have a private conversation with them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you've chosen a reality where AO is somehow "broken" because of an Off Topic section needing to be "fixed".
There are Moderators on board and they're not difficult to find. They could lock or delete this thread, I have no influence over their decision.
I could go back to the first post and delete the title, then watch it all go "poof!"
I'm reluctant to do that. This thread is an active bit of AO history that should remain archived.
Hell, it should be published as a study in sociology. Not that consent would be granted, but it's fun to dream. 😏

What I said was Friendly Corner was the "last straw for many". I know this for a fact because because I watched the demise from the start. The original problem was one person after another being rode roughshod over by a small group of guys, they kept up the pile on until the person gave up and left. Not a single finger was lifted to stop that nonsense. This is a fact, and this is the problem.

I'm astounded that you think AO is perfectly fine being devoid of any new paintball content and participating members. The idea that you a few others insulting each other equates to a successful forum is just plain wrong. This forum was developed for Automags.

I never said moderators were not present, I pointed out a single mod (Army) that hasn't been here for 3 years.

This so called Friendly Corner needs to be nuked into oblivion, disappeared and gone forever! It's nothing but a cesspool of tolerated non sense and 99% of the members detest it and they said so with their feet by walking away.

General Rule at the very top:
"We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below."

"We will not tolerate rudeness, profanity (or attempts to bypass profanity filters), insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts."
This rule has been ignored by the mods pretty much since TK left, or at least it grew in momentum over the decades. This is my problem with AO.

It's VERY odd that there is an attempt to turn this into an argument.

I'm just here for the fun and humor as I said before.

And also, words cannot express how much I don't care about the rest of it.

This is a quite different world than 2001.

Make it rigid rules like you are asking for, and that would the be "the last straw" for many of the rest.

But I for one can agree to disagree, and when children call names and crash out, I am amused, and think of how differently they would talk if we were all face to face, and not hiding behind a keyboard.

But that is an inherit problem built into social media.

                        Happy Sunday eve everybody !

I try very hard not to be rude. I consider profanity a lack of understanding basic English.
Calling someone a "Coprophagic Microcephalid" may be insulting but not against current rules against profanity.
The same rules both you and I agreed to abide to when we signed up.
You have been posting here for over a quarter of a century.
Why now? What purpose does it serve to suddenly demand MORE rules, MORE restrictions on speech?
Do you really wish to demolish the entire structure over what appears to be a personal grievance?

"The last six of us" are not leaving just because one person randomly gets their panties in a twist.
We're here because we can be and choose to be. I, personally, would resent having that choice taken away.

I'm asking if we can return the forum moderation back to what it was when this place was hopping busy, that way members can be encouraged to return and rebuild.

The game you guys are playing has grown old and tiresome, it's time to end it.
