    At-85

allright boys I have a question for you.
Has anyone ever shot, or know someone who has shot, an AT-85? I might be buying one but I can't find reviews or anyone who has shot them. If you know anything about them let me know
    Thanx

A member sold his at-85 or whatever here a couple months ago. I don't remember who but I remember it was for sale. I think it went for 250 too...

I've shot one....I have from a friend who enlisted in the Army. He wanted me to sell it when he went to basic training, and I tried but couldn't get the price he wanted for it.

If you do get one, make sure it has the hopper adapter. Otherwise you only have a 60 ball capacity. The select fire is sweet. The gun has a unique sound to it. It's pretty loud.

My friend has owned one for 4 years. He loves it when its not broken. He sent it to ATS to get it fixed and have them upgrade it to accept compressed air. After he got it back last week it wouldnt shoot in semi-auto mode. It was full auto all the time. They are mailing him a new trigger assembly. He spoke to the man who invented the marker and he couldnt figure out what it was.

The mechanical clip system is funky but once again, when it works it is great. Buy the clip that accepts a hopper if you get one. The marker is high maintenence and when it shoots its VERY loud. The barrel comes with a "Unisizer" that says it will fit most paintballs. Adjusting the velocity requiers the use of a very long rod that goes down the barrel, so dont expect that to be done easily. Oh, and adjusting the "regulator" as they call it, on the back of the gun, is not easy either. But, barring any of these difficulties, when the marker works, its a blast to shoot. Especially if you get an adjustible stock for it. Feels like an MP5 or something.

If you dont want to bother with ANY of this, buy a mag. I always tell my buddy this but he dosent listen. He's invested almost 600 into the AT-85 already, and he still wont give it up for a mag. I paid 450 for my minimag way back when, and he paid the same for his AT-85. He recently paid 150 for the upgrade, and it still dosent work. I paid 150 for a compressed air tank and plugged it in. See my point.

                  Good luck on your decision.

fun as heck to shoot and use. everyone looks at u like ur insane. They do break though. I was using a brand new one one time and the little guide plate for the chain drive in the clip broke off. I had to superglue it back together before i could use the gun. after that though it rocked.

The positive feed systems turns into a paint blender when the humidity increases or when you use old paint. A buddy of mine has an 85, and one day the feed system brokr five or six balls, passing the shell fragments into the breach; which quickly jammed the gun. Tear down and repair are abyssmal, and parts are a rarity. It's just one of those guns that you have to be a fanatic to own; much like the older cockers, Tippmanns. Clearly outdated, yet nostalgic.

I dont think you should get this gun... it is on the bad side, chops balls (which is a real mess)... so it kinda sux, i suggest all Kingman guns
