    Ricers Read This

I was browsing the "what car do you drive" and dream car threads and saw plenty of rice mentioned. For those of you who would like to get the most out of your 4 banger read this article my boy kyle wrote for a street racing site.

I've noticed some new treads in the import exhaust market lately. People are moving away from the basic 6" tip setup to much more involved setups. I have decided to provide this tech advice to those of you who are looking to get the most out of your sport rice.

#1: Dual Exhaust: The newest trend in import performance, dual exhaust. Yes, you too can can have the look of performance with dual exhaust outlets on your very own 4 cylinder. Domestics run dual exhaust because they have 2 banks of cylinders and it is beneficial to run dual outlets. Although your 17sec Honda does not have 8 pistons, there is no reason you too cannot play the part of the racer. Lack of performance has never stoped you before. Maybe someone will come out with a header that has a collector for every two primarys. That would definitly justify dual exhaust. Remember when making your exhaust, the least amount of backpressure is best. If you can put fans in your exhaust pipes to further reduce backpressure, do it. You can tap power from the place that u picked up the positive for your speaker that makes the turbo blow off valve sounds under your civic's hood.

#2: Off angle exhaust pipes: Nothing says stoopid fly like having your exhaust look like it was put on by a blind one armed midget with a stick welder. Make sure you have one pipe pointed down and to the right and the other up and to the left on your pimp 93 grand am. You wont win any more races, but the girlys will be crawlin over your dope azz ride.

#3: Smaller tips: I see many a import enthusiest going to a smaller exit exhaust pipe. I cannot tell you all how wrong this is. Fart pipes have been the staple of import performance for its whole storied existance (about the past 3 and 1/2 weeks). PLEASE, put your 6" tip back on. Tip diameter does equal performance (in your minds) so dont wuss out. It clearly says in the directions for your ApexI muffler that exhaust tip diameter must be one inch larger then the IQ of the driver. This means either you have no regard for the rules or the intellegence level in the import scene has fallen WAY off. If this trend continues, Folgers 2nd quarter earnings will be way low as well.

#4: Using name brand mufflers: Imports with domestic mufflers??? Can it be real? YES. Ive seen a few Dynomax super turbos and other assorted american mufflers under the chassis of Japans finest lately. What is up with this? I applaud the search for a superior muffling device, but what will the Akimosushifoosou TypeRSI mufflers and coffee containment device division of FugikamayoshimuraZ Corp. do without your business? A huge Japanesse congolmerate cannot exist on just producing Weapon Q shifter knobs, seat belt covers and recycled fish products forever. Please dont forget the Japanesse economy is in a slump when buying your next exhaust system. Every $500 you send back to the rising sun helps.

So take these tips into account next time you are designing your imports new exhaust system. If you want to be the dopest mofo in the yards this year, just follow these simple rules and ur sure to win the award for badest *** spectator and/or rolling road block.
