EverQuest?

Has anyone ever heard of a game called EverQuest for PCs? My friend keeps talking about how good it is, and I was thinking of buying it,but I want a second opinon. So if anyone does play it is it anygood?

A friend of mine plays it and it looks pretty cool. I think UO is a little more fun. In UO you can have houses, boats, horses, pet dragons, and pet demons. That in my book is pretty cool. If you wanna know more about UO talk to hemlock86. He's been playing UO forever, actually he's getting out of it. Ask him nicely he may sell his account.

Everquest is ok, but is a waste of money. I never played, but I know people who have. First you need to lay out money to buy the game. Then you need to lay out $10 a month to PLAY the game. Then, apparently, you need to lay out MORE money for expansions to stay competitive.

$120 a year just for the priveledge of playing thier game that you paid for is poop in my opinion. Blizzard lets you play online for free. Everquest isn't getting any of my money.

Everquest sux goat ballz! Ultima Online is way more fun(even though Im quiting/quit). I never played EQ but i hear its LAME. In UO,you have so much freedom, its sick. You can be a tamer/blacksmith/murder/thief/mage/warrior...ect I have a 7xgm healer/mage which i OWN people with( I still die occasionally from the dex monkeys :/ ).

Dark age of Camelot is pretty fun too, but the freedom isnt there like in UO. But alot of people quit EQ to play DAOC. If I were to start playing MMORPG's again, it probably would be DAOC or UO but definatley not EQ.

I suggest you try Dark Age of Camelot...The graphics and freedoms are better then EQ. Plus you choose from 12 races(Elf,Troll,Human/Viking,Kobold,Firbolg,Lurikeen,Dwarf, and a few human races)

............Or wait until Star Wars Galaxies comes out. Its going to be just like EQ/UO/DAOC rolled up into one game. And its "Star Wars"!!! You can be a Jedi/Bounty Hunter/Craftsman/Smuggler/Politicain/miner/harverster/tamer/...ect... and its 3D

I think its definately worth $10 amonth/$120. a year!! If your not playing this game, you out spending alot of cash on other stuff like Movies/Cable channel/Consel games($50 for a game you beat in 3 days?!?! WTF!!!) ect....These games take up alot of time and keep some ppl out of trouble.

And its not an expensive hobbie like Paintball where you spend a small fortune on a gun that cant even shoot straight for 100 yards...Plus With UO/EQ/DAOC you can sell your account for a few hundred bucks, you actually make money off these game. I played DAOC for 3 months, and quit and sold my account for $300.......thats a good profit for PLAYING A VIDEO GAME!!!

Dark Age of Camelot is very similar to Everquest but IS much better. Some say they took Everquest and just made it a million times better. I played it for about five months now and I'd have to say this is the BEST RPG game i have ever layed my eyes on. I have stopped playing though because it was way too time consumming.

Same here man I wouldnt mind to keep playing, but I spent hour on end playing that game, weeks on end....

I play Dark Age of camelot ... and damn that is a cool game... much better than everquest. and there is no expansions to buy. just the monthly fee junk ....

if you decide to play DaoC I am a guild leader of "Southern Cross" on the lancelot server. my nick name is the same here as there "edweird"

EQ is crap now and I got ppl with large accounts dumping it to play daoc with me and my buddies. Just wait til you see a raid on one of the other realms keeps (yes full fledged castles) and seige engines chucking rocks to and fro

flamer ok just because you dont play everquest dont give you the right to bash it.

i happen to play everquest and i like it very much and the reason it cost money is to pay the programmers to fix any problems the game is having. it has 30 servers that are all the same with about a million people on each server(no kidding) and the expansions are for new worlds and new spells and new characters and stuff. also it happens to be a really nice rpg that does not include guns cars or anything that is modern day(except for the new addition of horses which cost a lot of platinum) but it a very nice a broad game i have yet to get any chars to lvl 60 or higher and i started in october and im lvl 22 right now. it is not a game you can beat in a day,week,month, infact it might take a year to get to a nice lvl and with each new expansion it takes the stakes even higher so there really wont ever be an end to everquest. also i have only been to 1 continent out of about 7 and in each continent it has about 15-25 different zones that have different lvl mobs(beast,dragons, skeletons, beetles,there is way to many to list) it is a very competitive game and it doesnt induce any violence like any of the othe rpg's with modern day technology.

everquest has also has the best graphics. it is a first person game(as if you were in it) also we have trolls, ogre,human, dwarf,halfling,half-elf,elf,barbarian,lizard,vah-shir(giant cats),wood-elfs,darkies,(once again to many to list).in addition this is what you can make a barbarian and elfs and stuff we also have warriors, bards, druids,clerics, monks, palidins,rouge,beastlord,magician(again to many to list)

to me i think everquest is bigger than some of those games you listed

this is in no way a flame i mean no harm to anyone im just defending a great game
