Man that was a blast, and as a bonus there weren't as many skiiers doing it as boarders (I ski).

You go up to the backside of copper any? I tried StormKing, but i wasn't talented enough to make it up .

The only bad thing is that this late in the season there wasn't any fresh snow and there was lots of ice.
Actually I've only been able to go once or twice this season Seperated my shoulder early on and then cracked a few bones in my ankle playing hockey after that. Wasn't a good fall season for me. Can't believe you did a park on skis though! I tried that once and almost killed myself!

Peeps are necessary, they don't do much good without a shovel. What good is finding a friend if you can't get to him in time. Your guide should be certified, but if you plan on going lots get your AVI 1. Before you head out in the morning check in with the local patrolers to find out the conditions and the forecast.

Just in general. Wear layers, whats comfortable at base likely won't be at altitude. Bring a good pack that you can stuff things in (like your layers). I usually wear a camelbak to keep hydrated, you can get dehydrated fast at altitude. I also tend to bring fruit with me, lots of energy, no wrapers, and if you somehow get lost...

Yeah, anytime I go climbing or backcountry boarding I have a pack I bring (beacon, trench shovel, really loud whistle, small o2 canister, hot water, gps, field dress/surgery kit, knife, etc.), you never know what you'll need in an emergency. I think I've used everything in the pack at one point or another (Except for the beacon thank the Lord). Besides, if I have any say in how I leave this world, it's not gonna be like that! Fruit's a good idea, it'd be better then those cliff bar's anyway.

Good advice! Thanks! Now I'm more excited about golf and paintball though! Love it when it's warm in colorado!

Your pack must be heavy with all that, usefull but heavy. Does it upset your balance when you ride?

Ya I don't like those bars much they dry up my mouth, fruit is juicy

Yeah took awhile to get used to it. I wear a surplus assult type harness so I can carry some stuff on my chest (Knife, gps and some of the smaller crap). Basically most of the weight comes from the water. Trying to rig a small pack that will attach to the binding mounts and will sit right on the board. Anyway, does throw your balance off a bit, but doesn't affect me too much unless I'm trying to throw a trick or something.

Well that and they taste like processed crap.

Nutz - Bring a smile with you, fresh tracks all day long. If you head out with a group they should give you a checklist of what to bring. Or just read what we've been suggesting.

Riding for 12 years and no signs of letting up now, hey I get paid to do it.

yes, moguls can be very intimidating but once u get the hang of them they are actually kinda fun, u can jump some of them and catch some fun air... i hate really icy moguls tho...

i also hate how this season is over and i wont do any more boarding till next year... . i was planning on doing a back flip this year but i never saw the right jump for me and got a chance to try it... oh well whats done is done, next year i will be flipin off everything

ne of u guys wear helmets?

Easiest way to learn back flips is to go west. The first couple of times I tried I suitcased. When you land on your head and it doesn't hurt its easier to try things.

Helmet? Only in comps, probably should wear it more often.
