One way or another, Mustain will be back. Look what happened with James Hatfield from Metallica (at least I think it was him...). Got burned very heavily during a concert and came back after rehab better than ever. Dave's injuries are stated to be bad, but if he's got the will to do it...

Very true. Heck dave rebounded from being bounced from metallica. Still. A moment of silence, or more appropriately, heavy metal is in order. In the words of Banky: On that note, cue the music.

This has me very bummed. I've kind of been in a strange mental place since I found out. MTV news is saying it happened in rehab which he was atttending due to a relapse. That possibility has me even more bummed out. Megadeth has been my favorite band since the day peace sells was released. All through high school I was a very angry youth, I always turned to 'deth music because it sruck something inside of me.
Having been a megadeth fan for 16 years or so, it feels weird not knowing that they are around.
One of the happiest moments I can remember was when Holy Wars was premiered on the ball. I had read a few articles about 'deth being over after SFSGSW. I thought they had just faded away. I gave up on music for awhile and one saturday I was up late and thought, What the Heck, I'll watch the ball. They say "Megadeth world premiere" and my jaw dropped. A few minutes later they played it and I felt just absolutly great. I got goosebumps just now, remembering how I felt then. Of course as an adult, music doesn't do that for me anymore. But as a teenager, it was pretty important to me.
I'm even more glad now that I managed to get the stuff that I have, 3 signed photos and two guitar picks of Daves. Plus the time I talked to him on the phone.
I had been wondering what was going on since Dave quit posting on the 'deth boards then a couple of days ago the boards went down and emails to the webmaster were returned. I have heard that it was because of a bandwidth concern when this news was released. But its a shame that the droogies don't have anyplace to share this.
This is the first I've "talked " about it, and I must say it doesn't seem quite as bad. Thanks for listening.

Man you're a true fan, I've only been with em for about 6-7 years. Not sure if I want to catagorize myself as an adult really (22, guess I have to, huh?) but I gotta tell you, music still really affects me. Gets me pumped up for stuff, mellows me out, makes me happy, etc. It's an amazing outlet. Need to go listen to dread and fugitive mind again.
