You dont need a SC to beat a lightning, but it would help alot. Intake/exhuast and 100 shot of N2O will put the smack down...

The Syclone is still the fastest production truck ever made. The lightning is fords fastest. All new style lightnings are super charged. The older (boxy)style ones are not. I just cant wait for the Dodge SRT-10. Ram 1500, viper V-10 putting out 500hp and 500lb-ft. of torque. That baby will be seriously fast...assuming the mopar guys can figure out how to get it to hook up.

Ya know I was wondering just how long it would take for someone to come up with a saying like this. We are talking STOCK for STOCK here. you do that to a lighting and you'll be in the dust again. If you want to talk about shuting down other cars, keep in on the same level. ANYONE can dup 10000 into a motor and smoke this that and the other. Nothing against you Zumina, just one of my pet pieves. Be happy for him and his new truck, down try and sour the deal. Allthough I have to admit... I'm jealous as heck, I bought a 98 jeep cherokee the same day he bought that Lightning. What do ya think the 1/4 mile is on my jeep? think I can take him? LOL

You also have to consider the fact that an LS1 Z28 is $25k stock vs the $35k stock Lightning...Put $10k Into that Z28 and you got a 10 secound car, easy. :) But those Lightning are still dope! Im just a F-body freak and would prefer them over the lightning.

But stock for Stock...the Lightning wins.

Holy cow guys, I never thought I'd hit 2 pages with this post!

My intention was never to start the "who's got the fastest car" discussion, but I kinda figured it'd get to that point anyways. Supposedly with a few minor upgrades you can get them down into the 12's. Though with 100 miles on it I'm hardly thinking of upgrades yet. And my bank account is like, empty after the down payment :)

Just the fact that my 4700lb truck can give an unmodded vette a good run is plenty of braggin rights for me. Even if I don't beat them :)

Hemlock: Where r u gettin your numbers? They're MSRP is 32k. Hence if you're any good at dealin, you'll get them for around 30 at most places.
