Anyways, how many people here have addictions that they have overcome or still with?

I think I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper...

Well.... When I found out I was pre-diabetic (borderline diabetic) I had to give up regular soda for one thing and excessive sugar for another. How quickly I found how addicted to sugar I was! Now I drink diet which after a long time seems acceptable to me. I can't have large amounts of chocolate/cake/candy/icecream. (not to mention no excessive carbs in my diet!) I cheat a little here and there. But ask yourself really- how many people could give up all of their sweets!

Well, it isn't really an addiction but it's still a bad habbit... I always pick at scabs and stuff and it pisses me off because it always has that annoying itchy sting feeling after I pick off my scabs... I always scratch my head a lot which has resulted in some peeling of the scalp... lol

Not so much an addiction but a really bad habit, I lie alot about the dumbest stuff. Just to be able to relate to a situation, or be something that Im not. It really bugs me sometimes, because its not like the lies make a snitch of difference to anything, but that Ive provided false information about myself, just because i want someone to think a certain way about me. I even find myself saying dumb lies to my own girlfriend and thats where I wanna draw the line.

She should be able to trust me, and well since Ive only told her a couple lies about my past(*ok dont laugh here*), about that I was in Karate for 5 years and Tae Kwon Dae, Duko Kai, and Colli. Other people have heard this, and now people are kind of thinking Im some sort of self proclaimed bad-boy . I wana come clean with her, but I dont know ow, any suggestions?

I think I'm addicted to porn. Everytime I give it up, for any period of time, I always go back to it. What it just basically boils down to is--I'm addicted to hot, naked chicks.

Yep, I think i can agree with that...After being caught by my parents and having to pay a small fee because of it...you'd think i'd turn away...but nope..always find my self downloading more on kazaa!

So, addition is a word that gets thrown around a lot. Clinically, an addict is someone who is abusing something in the face of serious consequences.

You know you're an addict when you KNOW you're an addict and you WANT to quit, but you can't.

Not trying to belittle you, but being addicted to porn or hot naked chicks takes more than just not wanting to stop looking. Its pretty normal to want hot naked chicks. In fact its pretty much wired into your brain. Are you having serious consequences? Your parents being pissed probably isn't serious consequences. Do you WANT to stop? Do you NEED to stop? But you can't? Do you hate yourself because you don't stop?

You might, but I doubt it. Hey dude, you're probably not an addict - so go on and check out all the hot naked chicks you want!

Pretty much also applies to D. Pepper, picking scabs, lying, and paintball too.

But, hey, I'm not a doctor, so don't take my word for it. Yes this is the wisdom of experience and no I don't want to talk about it. It was a LONG time ago and I don't really want to spill that part of my life all over the internet.
