    More Bad News

Today I received a letter from the house association I belong to:

    PAINTBALL!!!
During Easter weekend there were youths firing paintball guns at passing cars on Walden Way. It is hard to imagine that anyone would not recognize this as antisocial behavior, not only causing property damage but also posing a risk of personal injury to any motorist or passenger so unfortunate as to have a window open. And, of course, it could so unnerve a driver as to cause a crash.
If there any youngsters in your household who have paintball guns, please make sure they understand that these devices should be used only in organized paintball games conducted in proper locations, with appropriate safety equipment, including eye protection - and that they should never be fired at anyione not participating in such a game, nor at private or public property. It is easy to forget that, though these are not lethal weapons, they can cause real injury.

    Bob Solomon.

I applaud that letter because Mr. Soloman is advocating EDUCATION and PARENTAL GUIDENCE as the key to the solution!!! He is not blameing the DEVICE but the USER. Excellent reaction and I hope it solves the problem. Good Luck.

        My assesment
        Those punks - Stupid
        Soloman - Intelligent

It's nice that he was open minded enough to place tha blame where it was deserved and not just blanket the whole sport

I also applaud the fact that Mr solomon addressed the issue in a mature and appropriate manner...I just wish that more people would realize that it is the individual, not the gun, or the sport, that causes the vandalism.

It was a good letter. If he had been a knee-jerk reactionary he would have sent a letter saying that all paintball guns were banned from housing. You're lucky he is a resenable person.

I can understand why the letter was sent but I think the wording needs some clarification. Does this mean no dry firing to test your gun after you clean it? I can see potential disagreements already. If the HoA is going to be anal about it rules where they could misconstrue dry firing as a violation to the rules and they would hand out fines.
